๐ฟ๐ก BRINGING A 15-YEAR-OLD LANDSCAPE BACK TO LIFE! ๐ก๐ฟ
This project is a great example of how an established landscape doesnโt always need to be completely torn out and started over.
The original landscape was approximately 15 years old and had become tired, overgrown and ready for an update. Our team at Texas Landscape & Design came in to evaluate what was already there, determine what could stay, and develop a new plan to give the property a cleaner, updated and much more LOW-MAINTENANCE look. ๐ฟโจ

๐ฑ UPDATING AN ESTABLISHED LANDSCAPE
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
When renovating an older landscape, we look beyond how everything appears today. We consider:
โ๏ธ Mature tree canopy & changing sunlight
โ๏ธ Plant sizes at maturity
โ๏ธ Overgrown or outdated plant material
โ๏ธ Drainage patterns
โ๏ธ Sprinkler coverage
โ๏ธ Bed shapes & borders
โ๏ธ Long-term maintenance
โ๏ธ Privacy & screening
โ๏ธ How the entire property flows together
For this renovation, we selected a combination of plants that provide color, texture, structure and easier long-term maintenance.
๐ฟ Kaleidoscope Abelia โ Beautiful variegated foliage with changing shades of green, yellow and seasonal color. A great low-maintenance choice for adding contrast.
๐ธ Conversation Piece Azaleas โ Added for beautiful seasonal blooms and color in areas with the proper light conditions.
๐ฟ Variegated Liriope โ Used throughout the landscape for texture, contrast and clean definition around the beds.
๐บ Fashion Azaleas โ A dependable choice for adding additional color while maintaining a traditional Southern landscape feel.
๐บ Formosa Azaleas โ Strategically placed along the existing chain-link fence. Their larger mature size will eventually provide additional HEIGHT, SCREENING & PRIVACY while helping soften the appearance of the fence.

๐ง THE DETAILS BELOW THE LANDSCAPE MATTER TOO
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Simply replacing plants wouldn't have completed this renovation.
๐ฆ Sprinklers were updated and adjusted to improve coverage and better support the new plant material.
๐ง๏ธ Drainage flow was addressed to help move water properly through the property and protect the landscape.
๐ถ Existing crushed granite pathways were redone, restoring their appearance and creating clean, natural movement through the property.
๐ ๏ธ Landscape edging was reset to bring back the original curves and give the beds, lawn and pathways a much cleaner finished appearance.
๐ชจ Existing natural stone elements were incorporated into the refreshed design to help maintain the character of this established property.

โญ FROM RENOVATION TO PREMIUM WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
One of the biggest advantages for this property going forward is that our team is now providing PREMIUM WEEKLY LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE. ๐ฟโ๏ธ
Instead of allowing the landscape to slowly become tired and overgrown again, we can continually manage it as the new plants mature.
โ๏ธ Weekly mowing & edging
โ๏ธ Detailed bed maintenance
โ๏ธ W**d removal & control
โ๏ธ Proper shrub trimming
โ๏ธ Plant health monitoring
โ๏ธ Irrigation checks
โ๏ธ Fertilization
โ๏ธ Seasonal landscape care
โ๏ธ Pathway & border cleanup
โ๏ธ Monitoring drainage performance
โ๏ธ Managing plants according to their mature size
๐ณ A good landscape renovation isn't always about starting over.
Sometimes itโs about taking an older landscape with good bones and giving it the right plants, better irrigation, improved drainage and professional maintenance to make it beautiful again.
