Itās a fair question, especially when youāre talking about something as expensive and important as replacing your roof.

Sometimes our number isnāt the lowest.
We hear it all the time:

And he probably can.
But before choosing the lowest number, thereās another question worth asking:
How are they able to do it that much cheaper?
Roofing materials cost roughly the same regardless of who installs them. Shingles, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, labor, insurance, equipmentāit all costs money.
So when one estimate is dramatically lower than everyone else, something usually has to give.
Maybe itās cheaper materials.
Maybe important components arenāt being replaced.
Maybe flashing is being reused instead of installed correctly.
Maybe ventilation isnāt being addressed.
Maybe corners are being cut in places youāll never see from the ground.
Or maybe the contractor simply isnāt charging enough to build a company that will still be around when you need them.
That last part matters.
A workmanship warranty is only worth something if the company that gave it to you answers the phone five or ten years from now.
