Book-matched stone slabs are tricky. You're lining up two pieces cut from the same block so the veining mirrors perfectly down the center.
If your measurements are off by even a quarter inch, or the pattern doesn't line up at the seam, the whole effect falls apart. It's one of those installs where there's no room to fudge it.
