Centered on the 'Black Aesthetic’, The Center for Black Excellence and Culture 's design incorporates elements of drama, ‘will to adorn’, and asymmetry, among other qualities.

The Center is a celebration of Black culture both through the architectural design and in its programming:
- innovation & leadership development spaces
- history, culture, and gathering places
- performance and art spaces
- wellness spaces
