Week 7 update on this basement finishing project in Davenport:

A lot of visible progress this week. The ceilings are knockdown textured, all surfaces have been primed, the ceilings are painted, and the trim carpentry and doors are now installed. The basement is really starting to come together and feel like finished living space.

Next up, we’ll be painting the walls, doors, and trim, then wrapping up the bathroom.

This project is adding a bedroom, bathroom, and a large finished living area to the basement.

Drywall is complete. Hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and detail work are finished, and the space is really starting to take shape as finished living area instead of just framing and rough-ins.

Basement Finish Progress Update (Week 1)

This project is all about turning unused basement space into something the homeowner can actually enjoy and use for guests, plus boost resale value. The plan is a new bedroom, bathroom, and living room/rec room.

This week’s progress:

Prepped the space and got everything staged

Laid out the new floor plan

Moved in materials and started framing

Completed required fire blocking

Framed the bedroom and bathroom walls

Next week we keep building momentum with exterior living room walls, closets, and ceiling strapping.
