On an absolutely gorgeous Summer afternoon, we happily gathered among towering cedars, to celebrate the love of Hanna & Justin!🌲💚🌲

Their sweet story began in 2018 in sunny SoCal, with a mutual friend bringing two people together who quickly discovered something very special. What started with easy conversation & talking every day soon became a love built on laughter, adventure, comfort, & the incredible joy in togetherness.

From weekend adventures & home-cooked meals to beach days & exploring new places, they built a life that eventually brought them to settle in Oregon, complete their education, grow their careers, welcome two beloved dogs to the fold, & become the kind of partners who make life feel a little lighter & immensely more enjoyable & meaningful.

And then came the proposal at Skamania Lodge — complete with a few unexpected twists, a perfectly chosen moment, & an over-the-moon “yes!”💍🌙💕

After eagerly looking forward to the day they’d be wed, that day finally came to pass & afforded them the amazing memories that they (& I) will always cherish.

Justin & Hannah, it was such a joy to witness you surrounded by such beauty & by the people who love you most. Your love is rooted in something truly special: unwavering support, laughter, friendship, dedication, & the freedom to be completely yourselves while always feeling at home in each other’s hearts.

May you continue to count your blessings, laugh often, support each other’s dreams, make plenty of sweet memories (& enjoy all the delicious sugar-enabler creations 😉), explore new places, love your family & fur babies fiercely, & choose each other through every chapter still to come.

Dee & Ben's heaven on Earth began in 2014, at Cleveland's Independence High where they began running in the same circles— passing each other at track meets & throughout the high school halls, followed by more of the same, well into their college years. 🏃‍♀️❤️🏃‍♂️

Finally… in 2019, while at home & on their Thanksgiving breaks,
Ben & Dee ran into each other at The Pickle & shared a wonderful time together, over drinks, deep connection & sweetly-flowing conversation.
Although time flew by as they were having fun,
this fortuitous evening all-too-quickly came to a close
but phone numbers were enthusiastically exchanged
& very soon after, their first official date was arranged.

As the years naturally unfolded, their love fully bloomed
as they navigated life as a formidable team,
marking all the exciting milestones that each new day would bring. 💕

And now, after all those years of running in the same circles & going the distance together, their paths have finally brought them here.

Sally & Troy first met while working together at Mary’s Woods & quickly connected through humor, kindness & an unmistakable sense that they were cut from the same cloth. As their friendship sweetly grew, so did the synchronicities—like discovering that their parents live just two blocks away from each other. 💫

From watercolor painting on lunch breaks to long walks along waters' edges & their unforgettable first date, complete with a drained car battery that perfectly led to an unforgettable first kiss 💛, their love unfolded with great ease & intention. Through the years that followed, Troy & Sally created a life full of adventure & joy, exploring the Pacific Northwest, supporting each other’s health & wellness, & happily growing their family tree with their beloved Bristol & Wampa. 🐾🐾

Then, on a romantic getaway to Cannon Beach, when the moment was just right, Troy knelt on the sandy shoreline, with Haystack Rock standing witness. Just as he asked Sally to spend forever with him, the sun broke through the clouds—as if to affirm all the magic, mystery & magnitude of their love. 🌊💍

Senbazuru, the ancient Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 paper cranes through the art of origami, symbolizes good fortune, longevity, & a thousand years of happiness. 🕊️

At weddings, they represent a long, harmonious marriage, as cranes are considered sacred creatures & believed to mate for life. 🤍

In this ceremony, they served as a beautiful backdrop for the festivities & were a meaningful nod to the groom’s Japanese heritage. 🌸

I always love it when a couple honors their backgrounds in special, meaningful ways & includes such distinguishing wedding decor on their special day! ✨

On recent late May day, a quiet yet powerful kind of magic surrounded us as we gathered by the sea. Each guest holding a small stone—earth in hands, blessings in hearts—offering their wishes & prayers into something tangible & truly lasting. One by one, those intentions were placed, forming a large ring in the sand… a gentle, sacred circle of love which warmly held them as they were wed. ❣💍❣

There was a sweet & special ease to it all. The way the light softly kissed the day & how presence so peacefully settled in. The beautiful reading by a family member which wove through the moments like a golden thread—steady & heartfelt, connecting past, present & what’s still to come. ✨

A union rooted in care, in equality, in choosing, in the quiet knowing of what it means to walk forward together. A love that is ever-growing, ever-changing, ever-powerful & ever-free... & that always finds them together like a river always finds the sea.🌊💙

On a beautiful day this May, I had the honor of standing with Melissa & Derek as they stepped into their “forever"— together. 🤍

Long before their paths aligned, their story was already unfolding…
but it took a simple nudge to get out there & date— & a shared love of slow Sundays, good coffee, & time with their fur babies— for everything to fall into place.

First meeting at an Asian restaurant (most appropriately, called Soul Fusion :) they quickly discovered that their souls were already connected. Their great first date was excitedly followed by two more that same week, including a wonderful time at a comedy show & a deep meeting of their minds & spirits over 4 delicious hours of hot coffee & heart-warming conversation!

Never wanting their together time to end, they bridged the distance between their homes & strengthened the foundation of their love through the everyday moments... dining out, long walks with the dogs, playing games, McMenamins hops, cuddling on the couch watching shows in each other’s arms, & doing most anything together! 💖

On the 4th of July in 2025, they set sail on a romantic river cruise to drift peaceful Oregon waters beneath a sparkling summer sky. It was there where the fireworks would transform the night & the sparks would fly, as Derek shared all that was on his heart & asked Melissa to spend the rest of her life by his side. 💍

Dearest newlyweds, what an immense honor it was to be a part of your story & to officiate your special day. Thank you for the joy of creating a ceremony that so truly reflected your love & for allowing me to witness the beginning of this incredibly beautiful new chapter. Jim & Trish are truly special humans—the kind who remind us that love doesn’t need to follow a straight line but *somehow* always finds its way to exactly where it belongs.💖

Living out of state but loving all the incredible vegan spots the Portland metro has to offer, we crafted a day that was so them—intentional, simple, & overflowing with meaning & magnitude. They stayed at Edgefield, where we met for a sweet legal ceremony alongside two kindhearted witnesses who we met that very day (reaffirming how the right people show up precisely when they’re meant to 💛).

From there, the three of us ventured into the Columbia River Gorge, where, overlooking a breathtaking waterfall, I had the honor of delivering a ceremony created just for them—one that held nearly 50 years of connection, growth, & returning home to each other.💞

From two teenagers in 1978—bonding over classical guitar & an unforgettable rendition of “Time in a Bottle”—to decades of life lived, letters written, paths wandered, & a beautiful reconnection in 2003… their love has always existed beyond time. Like a song that never really ends, just pauses for a fermāta, then begins again.🎵

And on this day, their long-awaited “someday when we’re married” became beautiful, unforgettable reality! 💫

Jim & Trish, your story is living proof that love—true, deep, soul-aligned love—is patient, expansive, & always right on time. What a gift it was to witness, honor & be a small but cherished part of it!

✨💙✨ There was something especially beautiful about the quiet sincerity of Rhonda & Bill’s wedding day— an intimate gathering with immediate family, a simple but meaningful fireside ceremony beside the warm hearth in their beautiful home along the golf course green, lovingly-joined hands, overflowing hearts & sweet vows spoken with an easy & steady certainty: to remain right there by each other’s side, with all of their hearts for all of their days.

From their very first messages across the Washington-Oklahoma miles to a quiet knowing neither could quite fully put into words, Stephanie & Noah blissfully followed their hearts & beamed with soul-deep smiles on the limitless path of enduring love.

At a vacation house on the river, they finally had their first date... a stretch of 3 lovely days of great meals, pedal boating & warm fireside chats, mini golf, hot tubbing, & simply enjoying the incredible goodness of being. 🥰

Their long-distance connection soon gave way to much closer presence, & presence to a formidable partnership, with one shared life taking shape. Together, they blended family homes, welcomed sweet Thomas into their world, & continued choosing “we” in all the ways that matter most. Then, this past February, as they strolled the windswept Oregon Coast & the cold salt water ebbed to the sea, Noah seized the perfect moment & knelt on sandy, wet bended knee, asking Stephanie to officially become “we”. 🌊💍✨

Noah’s question was one they’d already been living the answer to, & Stephanie’s reply was less like a beginning & more like a recognition... of all that was steady, certain, well in place & meant to be.♾️

Dear newlyweds, your “someday” is no longer a promise—it’s where you’ve sweetly arrived, so perfectly on time. It was the utmost honor to preside & to witness a love so grounded, generous, deeply rooted & alive. Brightest congratulations again, Stephanie & Noah! ✨🤍✨
