🚧Stanislaus County Supervisor Visits George Reed Parklawn Project in South Modesto

Last month, we had the opportunity to welcome Channce A. Condit Stanislaus County Supervisor, District 5, MNS Engineers, Inc., and Director of Public Work for Stanislaus County David Leamon to George Reed Inc.’s Parklawn Neighborhood Improvement Project in South Modesto.

During his visit, Supervisor Condit met with our concrete crews and saw firsthand the work taking place to improve one of the county’s historically underserved communities. Our team is delivering key upgrades that will make a lasting difference for residents, including new sidewalks, curbs, and gutters to improve pedestrian safety, ADA-compliant curb ramps and crossings for accessibility.

He also had the chance to ride along on the GOMACO Corporation Xtreme Commander IIIx curb and gutter machine, getting a closer look at the precision and effort behind this type of work.

Thank you, Supervisor Condit, for taking the time to visit the project and highlight the importance of this work. Learn more about our projects and services at www.georgereed.com.

🎉 Celebrating 40 Years of Service: Sixto Gomez 🚧

After 40 years with George Reed Inc., construction laborer Sixto Gomez is retiring, leaving behind a career built on hard work, loyalty, and teamwork. 👷‍♂️💪 Sixto began working for GRI in 1985 and called it a place that feels “like a family,” where everyone does their part and takes care of each other. 👏

Throughout the years, Sixto worked alongside many people he’s thankful for, mentioning coworkers and office staff who inspired him and treated him well. He reflected on memorable projects like the Franklin Blvd. job in Sacramento, where crews reconstructed sidewalks and paved the road, and he noted that most of his career was spent paving, with hundreds and even thousands of miles completed over time. 🛣️

When asked what advice he would give to younger workers entering the field, Sixto kept it simple: work hard, pay attention, and learn from the people around you. 🎊 Joined by his family, Sixto received a plaque and gifts to recognize this milestone and the impact he made throughout his career at George Reed Inc. 🏆
