The venture started back in 1952 when Grandpa Henry F. Dawes aka "Poppy Chicken", "Old Hank" ventured into Hudson Valley Sanitation. He was one of the very few companies with a "vacuum truck". Located on East Road on the border of Plattekill and Marlboro in the little area known as "Dawesville". After many changes in the business structure and family members getting more involved, Grandpa changed
the company name to "B&G Dawes Inc." (Bambi & Gregory) in the 70s. In 1982, Grandpa's son Chris aka "Dawzie" became more involved in the business. In 1986, Grandpa retired and Chris became the new owner with a new name of Dawes Septic Service. In 1995, Chris also started Modena Earthworks and Supply. A division to handle repair work and supply delivery. In 2008, Dawes Septic and Repair along with Modena Earthworks were proudly handed down to third-generation Carl, Chris' son, and Becky, Carl's wife Becky. Along with their team, they provide specialty services of wastewater disposal system design, installation, maintenance, and repairs. Additionally, excavation services are offered with a wide variety of expertise. Community support is dear to their hearts. Rotarians since 1991, they are committed to providing for their community as a way to give back for all the support that has been shown to them over all these years. Local organizations, veteran services, schools, food pantries, shelters, and many others see this impact. Learn more here:
