Your Favorite Girl To Talk Sh*t To™️- Becky Dawes

The venture started back in 1952 when Grandpa Henry F. Dawes aka "Poppy Chicken", "Old Hank" ventured into Hudson Valley Sanitation. He was one of the very few companies with a "vacuum truck". Located on East Road on the border of Plattekill and Marlboro in the little area known as "Dawesville". After many changes in the business structure and family members getting more involved, Grandpa changed

the company name to "B&G Dawes Inc." (Bambi & Gregory) in the 70s. In 1982, Grandpa's son Chris aka "Dawzie" became more involved in the business. In 1986, Grandpa retired and Chris became the new owner with a new name of Dawes Septic Service. In 1995, Chris also started Modena Earthworks and Supply. A division to handle repair work and supply delivery. In 2008, Dawes Septic and Repair along with Modena Earthworks were proudly handed down to third-generation Carl, Chris' son, and Becky, Carl's wife Becky. Along with their team, they provide specialty services of wastewater disposal system design, installation, maintenance, and repairs. Additionally, excavation services are offered with a wide variety of expertise. Community support is dear to their hearts. Rotarians since 1991, they are committed to providing for their community as a way to give back for all the support that has been shown to them over all these years. Local organizations, veteran services, schools, food pantries, shelters, and many others see this impact. Learn more here:

DID YOU KNOW?

Our very own Becky Dawes is officially in the Guinness World Records.

And because this is Becky, you already know it wasn’t going to be for something boring.

Back in 2013, Becky participated in The Great Cloth Diaper Change, a worldwide event that set the Guinness World Record for the most people changing diapers at multiple venues in 24 hours.

The final count? 8,301 people at 180 locations around the world, all changing diapers on the same day.

Yep. Long before she became Your Favorite Girl to Talk S**t To, Becky was already making history with p**p.

She even has the official Guinness World Records certificate to prove it.

Honestly, we’re starting to think this career path was destiny.

So the next time you call Dawes Septic, just remember: you’re not talking to your average septic company.

You’re talking to a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD PARTICIPANT.

Some people are born for greatness.

Some people are born for p**p.

Becky Dawes somehow managed both.

Well, look what we dug up… and for once, it wasn’t a septic tank.

This newspaper clipping is from January 2, 1985, featuring the OG himself, Chris Dawes.

More than 40 years ago, Chris was already out there fighting the good fight for the septic industry in the Hudson Valley. At the time, local haulers were facing a major problem: there were very few places to legally dispose of septic waste. Rising transportation costs and limited disposal options were making an already tough business even tougher.

And yet, Dawes kept going.

What makes finding this clipping even better is knowing that our family business had already been around for decades when this article was written.

Today, Dawes Septic & Repair has been serving this community for more than SEVEN DECADES and THREE GENERATIONS.

Think about that.

More than 70 years of trucks pulling into Hudson Valley driveways. More than 70 years of early mornings, emergency calls, changing regulations, new equipment, growing families and more septic tanks than any of us could possibly count.

The equipment has changed. The industry has changed. The hairstyles have DEFINITELY changed. Sorry, Chris. 😂

But the Dawes name is still here.

That doesn’t happen by accident. A family business lasts for seven decades because generation after generation shows up, does the dirty work, takes care of people and earns the trust of the community.

We’re pretty proud to be the third generation carrying that name today.

Over 70 years. Three generations. One family business.

And apparently, we’ve been talking s**t since long before I made it my tagline.

100 Years of Service. That deserves a BIG celebration.

This Saturday, August 29, the Plattekill Fire Department is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and we couldn’t let the occasion pass without recognizing what this department has meant to our community.

For 100 years, generations of volunteers have answered the call. They’ve left family dinners, warm beds, holidays, workdays and everything in between because someone in our community needed them. That kind of service is part of what makes a small town feel like home.

Dawes Septic & Repair has been proud to support the Plattekill Fire Department through sponsorships for many years, but what they have given back to this community goes far beyond anything a sponsorship could ever repay. These are our neighbors, our friends and the people who show up when it matters most.

Congratulations to the Plattekill Fire Department on an incredible CENTURY of service. From our family at Dawes to yours, thank you to every past and present member who has helped build this legacy.

And now it’s time for the community to show up for THEM!

The 100th Anniversary Parade steps off at 4:00 PM this Saturday, followed by the celebration at Thomas Felten Community Park. The evening includes live entertainment beginning at 5:00 PM, DJ Paulie H, local food vendors, the 100th Anniversary trophy presentations at 8:00 PM and Centennial Fireworks to close out the night.

Come out, line the parade route, bring the family and help celebrate 100 years of the Plattekill Fire Department doing what they do best: serving this community.

Happy 100th, Plattekill Fire Department! Here’s to the next 100. ❤️🚒

When you tell someone what you do for a living and THIS is the look you get. 😂

Yep. We pump p**p for a living.

And honestly? Somebody’s gotta do it.

While everyone else is trying to avoid talking about what happens after you flush, we’ve built an entire business around it. Septic pumping, repairs, inspections, emergencies, and all the wonderfully glamorous things happening underground that you’d rather not think about.

You keep flushing. We’ll keep handling the rest.

Networking, but make it Dawes Septic. 💩

I’m at the Ulster County Chamber Business Card Exchange this morning, and Melinda is at Ulster Boces.

And yes, we brought our business cards.

Except ours are squishy poos. 😂

Because if you’re going to hand someone a business card, you might as well make sure they remember who gave it to them.

Poo Mama was up and at ’em EARLY this morning!

Before the trucks roll out, the kitchen was already working overtime. Home-cooked meals for an amazing team because we value the people who keep Dawes moving every single day.

We appreciate their dedication and hard work, but we also care about their overall well-being and mental health. Sometimes taking care of your team looks like a hot meal, a chance to sit down, take a break, refuel, laugh a little… and then get back at the gate.

Today’s menu: sausage, peppers and onions, made with a whole lotta love from Poo Mama.

Take care of the people who take care of your customers. ❤️

Sewer plant run views are a little different out here in the Hudson Valley. 😂

Just us, a truck full of you know what, and a couple of locals enjoying breakfast like they pay the property taxes.

Honestly, we’ll take this traffic jam any day.

Just another day at Dawes Septic. Great views. Questionable cargo. 🦌💩
