✔Verify credentials: check for a physical address, license, and insurance. Use the Better Business Bureau to check for complaints.
RED FLAGS:
🚫 Door-to-door offers with leftover materials : "Your lucky day".
🚫 "We're in the area" claims may indicate lack of local presence for follow-up.
🚫 Unmarked vehicles with out-of-state plates.
🚫 High pressure sales tactics with tight decision deadlines.
🚫 Prepayment requirements.
✔Get a second or third quote: An estimate from a contractor that's much lower than any of the others doesn't mean it's the best deal. Make sure all the quotes include the same things, and check references.
✔Avoid upfront cash: Never pay the full amount and avoid cash-only deals.
