Haven’t been good about posting lately! Here’s a job we did for an awesome family who wanted a change! We took old, sunken, brick patio out and replaced it with natural, milled, stone. Part of the reason the old patio sunk was due to a downspout pouring water on it. We trenched for the downspout, wrapped it in AB3 and buried it with a pop up in the yard.
For the stone, we opted to just use the AB3 for stone setting as running a plate compactor over it in a sand bed would crack it. Joints were filled with a polymer sand. I think it looks pretty good! What do you think?

Nice to see the grass come in before it all goes dormant!

As we take a “short” break from seeding, here’s a quick/clean stone border we did yesterday with mulch.

Here’s an item we get asked a lot to do. Quite a few people have gone the way of using landscape fabric and rock to fill in beds and remove future w**d growth. If you want a zero maintenance bed, maybe think about rocking it. Even mulch must be refreshed annually and still provides enough composition for w**ds to grow!

We love using the simulated flagstone! This was a fun project for a wonderful couple who nursed us through this extreme heat! In preparation we buried their downspouts to hide them. The retaining wall was meant to be a “re-stack” but they decided later to add another layer and cap it as well as adding a small wall on the other side of their egress. To save some time/money they had us level it on dirt instead of tamped AB3. What do you think!?
