IT'S OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: We’re adding a little more structure around here. 😉🏗️

Ackerman-Estvold is expanding our services to include structural engineering! With that news, we’re excited to officially welcome Travis Olson, PE, as Senior Structural Engineer and leader of our new structural engineering group!

Based in our Fargo office, Travis brings more than 10 years of experience designing the structures behind retail, education, agricultural, housing and mixed-use projects.

Adding structural engineering means another discipline working alongside our architects, civil engineers and other technical professionals, giving us even more opportunities to collaborate and provide comprehensive solutions for the clients and communities we serve.

New service. New teammate. Stronger team.

We love seeing this creative idea take shape! 🌳🎨

Changes to the landscape can be one of the more visible and difficult parts of a project of this scale. Finding a way to preserve some of these trees through the work of these chainsaw sculptors is a thoughtful way to keep a piece of them in our community for years to come. We’re excited to follow along and see what these artists create!

Please join us in welcoming Travis Olson, PE, to the engineering team! For those that have followed us for awhile, Travis may be a familiar face. Travis first joined Ackerman-Estvold as an intern in our Minot office. He gained experience in civil engineering while here, but ultimately his interests led to structural engineering. He has spent the years since growing his knowledge and expertise in that discipline.

Now, Travis is bringing that experience back to where it all started. He has accepted the challenge of leading the development of our Structural Engineering department and will help shape what this new service will become at Ackerman-Estvold.

Travis is located in our Fargo, ND office.

👍 Welcome (back) Travis! 👍

Progress continues at Minot’s Roosevelt Park Zoo. Beams were placed onto the future North American cats building earlier this week and walls are being constructed on what will be a fantastic new otter exhibit. Architectural Zoo Exhibit Designer, Jeremy Bickel, and Civil Engineer, RD Marx are on-site communicating with contractors and subs as the construction keeps rolling!

Congratulations to Jessica from our architecture team and Jett from our civil team. They were selected to attend Community Leadership Institute in Minot through the Minot Area Chamber EDC. COMMUNITY is one of our core values, and we are excited for them to immerse themselves and learn more about the place they call home.

We have a tongue-and-cheek saying around here that we 'like big brains' and students had a chance to challenge their cerebral cortex while visiting our booth this morning at FuturePalooza! We had our sights on those that completed our puzzle. (Thanks for stopping by!)

Students: If you are interested in a career where you get to exercise your brain everyday, contact us. We may have an opportunity for you!
