1️⃣ Warping or buckling panels — siding that has pulled away from the wall or is no longer lying flat has lost its structural integrity.

2️⃣ Fading or chalking — severe color loss means the protective coating is gone and the material is exposed.

3️⃣ Cracks or holes — even small gaps allow moisture to reach the sheathing underneath, where real damage begins.

4️⃣ Peeling paint on the interior — moisture getting behind your siding often shows up first as peeling paint or wallpaper inside.

Here is an honest answer. 🏠

REPAIR may be the right call when:
✅ The damage is isolated to a small area
✅ The roof is under 10 years old and otherwise in good condition
✅ A specific event (a tree branch, a single hail strike) caused limited damage
✅ Flashing or sealing issues are causing leaks but the field shingles are intact

REPLACEMENT is usually the smarter investment when:
🔴 The roof is 15–20+ years old
🔴 Multiple areas are showing wear or granule loss
🔴 You have had repeated repairs that keep coming back
🔴 Storm damage is widespread across the entire roof system
