Designing spaces. Building partnerships. Those two things have always gone hand in hand for me.

The best projects start by listening, really understanding what a client wants, how they work, and how they want people to feel when they walk through the door. Our job at Baker Foundation Studio is to take those ideas and turn them into something real, while guiding the process together along the way.

The White Bear SuperStore project started with an aging office building next to a busy dealership. Rather than starting over, we worked with G5 Construction to rethink what the building could become.

Anchored Orthodontics took over a former orthodontic office in Minnetonka, but this wasn’t simply a matter of changing the finishes. The layout needed to be completely rethought around a new practice, new technology, and a very different personality.

The result is a space that feels distinctly theirs. Fun water-inspired details bring the Anchored brand to life, while the overall environment still feels comfortable and professional for patients and families.

Sometimes you don’t need a new building. You just need to see the existing space differently.

October is Dental Hygiene Month, a good time to recognize the dental professionals Baker Foundation Studio is fortunate to work with.

Our team spends a lot of time thinking about how a dental space should look, feel, and function, however it’s the people inside those spaces who create the experience patients remember.

We're genuinely impressed by the care our dental clients and their teams bring to their work. We're also grateful we get to play a small part in creating spaces that support them.

A healthcare space can be professional and still have a little fun.

I think this orthodontic clinic is a great example of that.

We wanted it to feel connected to the practice’s other metro locations, but not like a copy of them. Colorful discs, interesting lighting, and custom dividers gave the space its own personality while still feeling familiar to the brand.

The waiting area is one of my favorite parts. Instead of rows of chairs, it was designed more like a comfortable living room, with space for families and groups to settle in.

It’s a good reminder that consistency doesn’t have to mean sameness.

Every community has a story, and great design should reflect it.

This dental clinic, inspiration came from the local river that gave the practice its name. We incorporated subtle river-inspired details throughout the space, including a custom fireplace feature that creates a warm welcome.

The waiting area was designed to do more than serve patients. It also provides a place for community meetings and educational events, making the clinic a gathering space as well as a healthcare destination.

Natural light has a way of changing how a space feels.

For this growing practice, we designed a space filled with natural light, balanced by warm materials and clean, modern lines. The result is bright and welcoming without feeling cold or clinical.
