Double pane or triple pane — which one is actually worth it in a Minnesota winter?

Double pane windows are a great upgrade from single pane. Two layers of glass with a gas fill in between does a solid job of keeping heat in and cold out — up to a point. In colder climates, they have their limits.

Triple pane windows take it a step further with a third layer of glass and a second insulating chamber. The result is better heat retention, less condensation on the inside of your glass, and a noticeably quieter home. In a climate like ours, that extra layer can make a real difference.
