We’re honored to have received two 2026 RAVE Awards, Mpls.St.Paul Home & Design Magazine’s annual recognition of outstanding residential architecture in Minnesota.
FIRST PLACE | Architectural Plans: Modern Timber Cabin
Set on a long, gradual descent to the water, the design uses a concrete wall to establish a sense of place and anchor the home within the openness of the landscape. A restrained palette of concrete, stone, timber and glass allows the architecture to sit quietly within its setting. The result is not spectacle, but presence: grounded, restrained and rooted in its place. As one judge noted, “The restrained architectural language and clear gestures in the landscape create a house that is focused on indoor-outdoor connection, sitting quietly within nature.”

SECOND PLACE | New Home, More Than 5,500 SF: Modern Scandinavian Retreat
On a small wooded island, three gabled pavilions connected by low glass links weave between existing trees and recall the character of a small Nordic village. Inspired in part by the owners’ Finnish heritage, the home was designed to preserve the experience of the island rather than dominate it.
