There’s nothing better than spending the day with our community! 💚 🏠

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us during Nokomis Days. It was so much fun catching up with some of our favorite neighbors, meeting new faces, and sharing what we love.

A huge thank you to Town Hall Lanes for partnering with us and hosting the event in their parking lot. And shoutout to Tracy Chad Johnson for keeping the energy up and the good vibes going all day long! 🎶

We loved sharing our selection of native plants, showing off our new swag, and helping kids create their own tiny pollinator plant pots. Seeing so many little hands getting excited about pollinators and plants was definitely a highlight of the day. 🪴💛

We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up, support local businesses, and make events like this so special. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

Don’t let the pretty purple flowers fool you!!! 🚫💜

Creeping bellflower may look harmless, but it’s one of the most aggressive invasive plants you’ll find in Minnesota gardens. It spreads by both seeds and deep underground roots, making it incredibly difficult to get rid of once it’s established.

Our merch store is only open once a year and for a limited time, so now is your chance to grab your favorite designs, colors, and styles. We have t shirts, tanks, sweatshirts, hats, and totes.

The store closes July 14 and everything goes into production after it closes.

We’re Mara and Nate, the owners of Blissful Bee Gardening. 🐝

People always ask how we got into landscaping, and the answer is… kind of by accident.

I (Mara) actually come from the public health and food world. I’m a dietitian with a master’s in public health, and I’ve spent most of my career working in nutrition, farmers markets, and food systems. Somewhere along the way I realized that healthy communities start with healthy ecosystems, too.

Nate, on the other hand, worked in landscaping for years before we started the business. He’s the one with the field experience, the eye for how things should come together, and the calm “we’ll figure it out” attitude that balances out all of my ideas.

In 2023, we decided to take the leap and start Blissful Bee Gardening. We spent that first season working nights and weekends before eventually going all in.

Now we spend our days turning lawns into pollinator habitats, planting native gardens, building outdoor spaces people actually want to spend time in, and occasionally driving around Minneapolis in our tiny Japanese mini truck. 🛻 🌼

From full demo to full bloom 🌱

We started by clearing everything out and rebuilding the space from the ground up. This project included a bee lawn, raised vegetable gardens, and natural stone pathways to tie it all together.

This client had a great vision for the space and was awesome to work with throughout the process. Projects like this are always more fun when homeowners are excited to get their hands dirty and be part of the transformation.

Now we wait for the good stuff. The lawn will continue filling in, the veggies will take off, and the whole space will look even better later this summer.

Can’t wait to see how it grows. 🐝

We had such a fun time at the Mill City Farmers Market doing our decorative potting demo!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with us, and supported local! We’re so grateful to be part of such an amazing community of vendors and makers.
