Throwback to one of my favorite kitchen islands from a 2017 remodel that we did. 72"x48" with a commanding design - a true statement piece for the room. I was overjoyed that our clients kept the original leaded windows and builtins/woodwork in the dining room, too. Confession: I only like painting old woodwork white when its too far gone to ever look nice again...and rarely is that the case!!

Hi. We have acquired 150 new IG followers in the last couple of months (thank you) and I thought I should reintroduce myself! I am the founder and General Contractor at KJB Homes, making my company a woman owned business in Minneapolis, MN ❤. I have been in this role now for 7 years, and I love what I do! PROOF that basement bedrooms don't have to be dark!! This one has 3 glass block windows and an egress to bring lots of daylight in. I also love the custom cabinetry by to cover the electrical panel for a more cohesive look. The color of this room is SW6212 Quietude. Such a relaxing vibe. I love this space!

Tile from - this was our most popular tile of 2019 AND 2020. It gives any bathroom or laundry room that "extra something."

Trend alert! I am loving the stained oak door/white trim combo. We have several projects in progress where the homeowners have chosen this design concept and it is a great way to subtly spice things up. Choose a natural finish with matte black door handles, or go with a darker finish like you see here with chrome or brushed nickel handles for contrast!
