I’m getting asked by a lot of people if I submitted work to the MN State Fair this year. I did not. I don’t need the drama 😉

But I am exhibiting this new piece “Bourbon and Bone” at Frameworks Gallery in Highland Park with the Minnesota Artists Association. Opening night reception is Saturday, August 8th, from 6-8 pm. Come say hello!

Painting is traditional oil on stretched Belgian linen. It’s 20x24 and I’m thinking of pricing it around $1300. DM if interested.

Kath and I have been talking about going to Yosemite for years now. When a trip suddenly popped up for me to visit a client in San Francisco, we said ‘Hey let’s tack on a few days and visit Yosemite!’ We’re so glad we did and would come back for a longer visit in a heartbeat.

I’m going to miss this painting. A part of me wanted to keep it at the cabin. The white oak that I milled the frame from comes from around there and it is a painting of the lake reflecting the northern lights. Still, I’m also grateful to the collector who purchased it and happy that they cherish it.

It was mentioned to me today that my studio is not listed in the Art-A-Whirl directory this year. This is truly an oversight on my part! I forgot to submit my entry to the directory by the deadline. But be assured my studio will be open! I’ll follow up with NEMAA after the event.
