Primary Bathroom Remodel Before & After | Luxury Bath Renovation & Space Planning

Raise your hand if you have a giant jetted tub taking up prime real estate in your bathroom. ✋

Many homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s were designed around oversized tubs that often went unused, while the features homeowners actually wanted were left competing for space.

That was exactly the case in the Morningside Primary Bath.

Through thoughtful space planning, we completely reimagined the layout, transforming a dated bath into a serene retreat. By removing the oversized tub, we were able to create a luxurious steam shower, his-and-hers vanities, and even carve out space for a large walk-in linen closet (not pictured).

The best renovations aren't always about adding square footage. Sometimes they're about making every square foot work harder.

Better function. Better form. A better way to live every day.

EuroCucina at Milan Design Week | Luxury Kitchen Design Trends from Italy

Our trip to Milan may already be in the rearview mirror, but the inspiration is still very much with us.

One of the highlights of the week was EuroCucina, where the future of kitchen design was on full display. Innovative materials and beautifully integrated appliances, so many thoughtful details that we get to tuck away for the future.

Enjoy this minute-and-a-half glimpse into one of the most inspiring design events we have ever been to. 😍

And while we miss the incredible design, if we're being honest, we also miss ending each day with a stop at the Prosecco Bar. 🥂

Salute, Milan. Until next time.

Where to Splurge in Your Home Renovation | Luxury Design Details Worth the Investment

Not every element in a renovation needs to carry the same weight, but certain details have the power to completely elevate a space. Not everyone has the same priorities, so here are a few ideas to get you started.

If you are deciding where to invest, here are a few areas that make the biggest impact:

Hardware - The jewelry of the home. Solid brass hardware develops character over time and adds a sense of quality you feel every single day.

Lighting - Beautiful lighting transforms a room emotionally and architecturally. Layered, thoughtfully selected fixtures create warmth, mood, and depth.

Countertops - Natural stone brings richness, movement, and timeless beauty that is difficult to replicate.

Tile - Whether it’s handmade texture, a custom pattern, or a statement installation, tile is an opportunity to create artistry within a space.

Details & Craftsmanship - The little things matter. Custom millwork, thoughtful storage, tailored proportions, and quality materials are often what separate a good renovation from an exceptional one.

The secret is balance, knowing where to simplify and where to lean into quality for maximum impact and longevity.

What Too Many Forget to Budget for in a Luxury Renovation | Understanding The True All-In Cost

Everyone remembers to budget for cabinetry, countertops, and appliances… but some of the most important finishing layers are often overlooked.

Here are a few of the biggest budget surprises we see:

Window Treatments - Custom drapery, shades, and hardware add softness, privacy, light control, and an essential finished feeling to a home.
Typical investment: $500–$3,000+ per window depending on scale and complexity.

Furnishings - Renovating often changes the scale and flow of a space, meaning existing furniture may no longer fit aesthetically or functionally.
Typical investment: $15,000–$100,000+ depending on the scope of furnishings needed.

Counter Stools - They are used every day and deserve to be comfortable, durable, and thoughtfully proportioned. Quality seating makes a huge difference.
Typical investment: $400–$2,000+ per stool or chair.

Accessories & Styling - Artwork, pillows, lighting, greenery, and decorative objects are what bring warmth, personality, and life to a finished space.
Typical investment: $5,000–$25,000+ depending on the size of the home and level of styling.

These final layers are often what transform a renovation from “new” to truly complete. Planning for them early helps create a home that feels cohesive, elevated, and fully realized from day one.

One of the most valuable parts of our process is helping clients understand the true all-in investment from the beginning. We walk through every layer of the budget together, from construction to furnishings and finishing details, so there are fewer surprises and better decisions along the way.

Luxury Powder Room Design Ideas | Statement Wallpaper, Custom Vanities & Timeless Details

Powder bathrooms may be some of the smallest rooms in the home, but they are often the perfect place to take a design risk and create a memorable moment.

A bold wallpaper, rich wood tones, dramatic lighting, a statement mirror, or custom vanity details can completely transform these compact spaces into jewel boxes full of personality and charm. Because they are smaller in scale, powder rooms also offer an opportunity to lean into higher-end materials and thoughtful details in a way that feels impactful without overwhelming the overall project budget.

Whether your style is timeless and tailored or layered and dramatic, a powder bath is the perfect canvas for creating a space that surprises and delights your guests.

Proof that sometimes the smallest rooms leave the biggest impression. 🚽

Before & After Kitchen Transformation | Isles Kitchen Remodel by Minneapolis Interior Designer

Transformations like this are a reminder of just how impactful thoughtful design and strategic space planning can be.

In the original kitchen, the spaces felt disconnected and closed off from the surrounding rooms. By opening the kitchen to the dining area and creating a generous cased opening with a peninsula to subtly define the spaces, the entire main level now feels brighter, more connected, and far more functional for everyday living and entertaining.

The result is a kitchen that feels timeless, welcoming, and beautifully integrated into the home, proof that sometimes the most meaningful changes are about improving flow and the way a space is experienced day to day.

There’s nothing better than seeing a home transformed into a space that truly supports the people living in it.

Kitchen Space Planning Transformation | Meadowbrook Kitchen Remodel Design

What a difference thoughtful space planning can make. Sometimes the most transformative renovations happen without adding a single square foot.

In the Meadowbrook Kitchen, we worked entirely within the existing footprint while completely reimagining both the look and the function of the space. Strategic layout changes, improved workflow, and carefully considered storage solutions transformed the kitchen into one that feels more open, efficient, and beautifully connected to daily life.

Proof that great design isn’t always about making a space bigger, it’s about making it work better.

Modern Kitchen Design with Black Ash & Rift Oak Cabinetry | Woodland Kitchen

Modern contrast, natural warmth. Black stained ash cabinetry paired with cool-toned granite creates the perfect counterpoint to the warmth of natural rift oak in the Woodland Kitchen. The pronounced grain of the ash adds richness and texture that paint-grade cabinetry simply cannot replicate, bringing depth, dimension, and a more organic feel to the space.

It’s this balance of light and dark, warm and cool, refined and natural that gives the kitchen its striking modern character while still feeling timeless and inviting. Perfect contrast. Perfectly modern.
