One of the greatest parts of being a LiUNA member is getting to participate in the community outreach programs that help our local communities. We are proud of the membership and our local leaders who organize these events through Laborers Rising and our local charities to make real help a reality in our local communities.

Same job. Same skill. Same paycheck. Brother OR Sister. That's what the 1963 Equal Pay Act is supposed to guarantee, and what we're still fighting to make real on every jobsite.

Beyond proud of LiUNA Local 1353 member and West Virginia Construction Craft Laborers Instructor Willis Hundley on completing his AAS in Skilled Trades from WVU Parkersburg. Congratulations Willis on this accomplishment.

Congrats to Willis Hundley on being the first confirmed graduate of the STAND Program from WVU Parkersburg!!

Hundley is a member of the WV Laborers and plans to continue his education in the WVU-P Supervisory Management Program.

This is exactly why STAND was created: to provide a pathway and training for WV construction workers to become leaders on the jobsite.

STAND is a state-funded program that gives Building Trades apprentices the opportunity to pursue an associate degree from a WV community & technical college TUITION-FREE!

“Programs like STAND open doors for the working class who may not otherwise have the chance to pursue higher education while building their careers in construction,” said Hundley.

“It definitely made it more financially secure. That was the big win for me, was the financial security. Being able to get an associate’s degree without all the out-of-pocket costs.”

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice made our freedoms possible and paved the way for generations of working men and women to build a better life for their families and communities.

This Memorial Day, the Mid-Atlantic Region stands in gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We remember their courage, honor their legacy, and keep their families in our thoughts.

From all of us at LIUNA Mid-Atlantic, thank you to our fallen heroes. We will never forget. 💙🧡
