PSA FROM RAFTER-H ROPEWORX
To my clients and future clients:
I may not be the most experienced arborist in the area. I know that is a fact. I’m learning constantly that there are better ways to do things. I have a long way to go but I have also come a long way.
There’s plenty of guys that have been doing it longer, with better gear, that can do it much faster, and much more efficiently. With that being said, I have not a doubt in my mind that there is a better choice out there when you need a tree removed in a hurry, or sometimes even on a budget. We all have to start somewhere, and that’s not always with brand new equipment and loads of experience.
I have been working this on my own for 3 full years now, only two under the Rafter-H Ropeworx brand, and let me be the first to say. The learning curve has been steep and expensive.
However; humbly. You may not find another professional arborist who is as dedicated, persistent, determined, communicative, or passionate about what he does for a living.
This is not a job to me, this is a lifestyle.
I’m not saying that there are not others out there that feel the same way that I do, I have met them and they are always a pleasure to work with, rec climb with, or just hang out with. I always end up learning something new in every encounter.
I do this because; as far as things that make me tic, it is quite literally the 4th most important thing to me. My relationship with Jesus Christ the most high being first, my relationship with my beautiful wife second, my relationship with my children third, and my occupation being fourth.
Nothing but death alone will change that.
I always say, I am the wealthiest person I know, even with the very little money and assets I possess. Gratitude is my attitude at all times, even the bad. It’s all Gods anyway so why be pi**ed off when things go pear shaped. I do what he puts before me in the day to day, and let him work out the rest. I do my part so that he can effectively do his.
When I get that part right, then I get to wake up every day, which is a blessing in and of itself, and do what I absolutely love for a living.
I don’t see myself ever living a life that didn’t involve some aspect of arboriculture/logging/forestry and that’s fine by me.
So next time you’re about to hire someone to take care of your trees or any other type of work. I recommend finding someone who truly cares about the industry. It might make the difference.
If they care about their life, their safety, and doing what they do for a living in a way, that is conducive with longevity. Common sense would dictate, that it is more likely they will care about your life and your assets as well.
I know what it takes to build something special, whether that’s a home, a family, a classic car in a garage, or a business.
It really sucks when someone disrespects that with their carelessness. Accidents still happen; that’s why we carry insurance with insane premiums and huge payouts, but don’t set yourself up for failure. Make sure that the people handling heavy things around your homes and property, care more than you.
I love you all, and thank you so much for allowing me to earn your trust as your local tree care professional, it’s an absolute honor to serve you and your families.
Try to keep your ropes dry, and always always always look up.
