At Barrientos Design, we have spent decades working alongside the vehicles, equipment, and operations that keep public agencies running. It only makes sense for our brand identity to start reflecting this world more directly!

Our President Norman Barrientos recently had the privilege of moderating a panel at the NAFA Institute & Expo in Cleveland, Ohio, one of the leading annual events for fleet administrators nationwide.

It was a great opportunity to facilitate conversation among fleet professionals and reconnect with valued clients, including Tracee Scott from the City of Las Vegas and Michael Naglieri from Davidson, North Carolina. The opening reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was another noteworthy highlight!

Events like this are a reminder of why we do this work. We truly enjoy connecting with the inspirational people who keep communities moving every day!

Across the country, public works agencies are operating out of aging garages that were never designed for today's fleet, workforce, or operational demands. The most common barrier to modernizing to meet these needs is funding.

Luckily, our team has great insights on how to overcome this challenge was was honored to share them at the Wisconsin APWA Conference in Brookfield. Getting a new Department of Public Works garage funded starts long before the design process - it starts with making the case.

At the Florida APWA Annual Conference in Tampa, our President, Norman Barrientos, joined Kevin Brinkley of the City of Palm Bay to deliver the seminar "Presenting Your Capital Expenditure Request for a New DPW Garage."

Co-delivering this presentation with a practicing public works manager made all the difference, because the people making these requests deserve guidance from someone who has actually been in their seat.

Securing capital funding in the public sector is a real challenge, and we're glad to be part of the conversation that helps agencies build a stronger case.

Congratulations to our Architectural Intern Amiee Hanf on earning her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee on May 16th!

Amiee joined our team earlier this year to gain hands-on experience as an Architectural Designer in practice. She has been integral in supporting our architectural and planning projects, contributing across all phases of design. Her work has included programming, schematic design, design development, construction document drafting, digital modeling, graphic production, and more.

We're proud to have been a part of Amiee's journey and we can't wait to see where her talent takes her next! Hats off to this very impressive grad! 🎓

This was the framing point our President, Norman Barrientos, AIA, brought to a packed room of fleet managers at the FLAGFA Spring Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida.

We recently stepped away from the drawing board for an evening of axe throwing and shuffleboard at NorthSouth Club, followed by great food and conversation at Merriment Social.
