20 years at Brillo.
I started here at 21, fresh out of college, with very little idea what I was doing and absolutely no idea that I’d still be here two decades later.
And somehow, this place has been the backdrop to nearly every version of my adult life. I met Mike here, married him, had two kids, watched them grow up, changed and evolved in ways I never could have predicted—and now it has been 20 years.
A lot of life has happened in the background of this work. Some beautiful, some hard, some completely unexpected. And through all of it, Brillo has been this strange and wonderful constant.
And then there are the people. The coworkers who became friends, the friends who became family, the people who came and went, and the clients who trusted us with their homes and let me be part of their lives in ways that went far beyond picking out tile. I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships, memories, lessons, laughs, and yes, the occasional questionable decision, that have filled these 20 years.
Twenty years is a long time to do anything. It’s especially long to spend with the same family business and a job that has somehow continued to evolve right along with me.
Feeling really grateful for the life this place has been part of—and pretty proud of the person I’ve become along the way.
20 years. That feels a little wild to say out loud.
