Lance-leaved coreopsis, Coreopsis lanceolata, is looking bright today, but it’s more than just a pretty flower! It is one of very few plants that a small group of native bees can use for food.
Specialist insects are only supported by one class of plants, or sometimes even by only one specific species. Bees in the class Melissodes can only feed their larvae coreopsis pollen.
Support native biodiversity by planting native coreopsis in your home or rain gardens this summer.🌼🐝
