Last step on our roof assembly- fasten 1/2" plywood on top of foam with nails into the perimeter curb and 6" screws in the field. Now the roofers can come install their underlayment and prep for the standing seam metal roof!

Next steps on this roof is laying 2 layers of GPS foam and then a top layer of plywood screwed through to structure underneath with 6" screws.

With our "L" curb detail, the first layer of 1-1/2" foam planes with the bottom 2x4, then the 2" layer brings it up flush with top of curb. 1/2" CDX plywood sandwiches it all together and provides backing for metal roof fastening.

This is not a true "monopoly" roof since we are not cleanly connecting the wall to roof seam. But the rigid insulation layer is purely continuous and will provide R-18 over the R-23 cavity for decades. Nice roof.

Matt reframed this dormer roof and now we have all the Adhero wrapped! On to the curb for insulation/roof drip edge. We went with a 2x4 "L" so that the outer face planes with the fascia but we still have a place to nail it on with backing underneath. We'll place a layer of 1.5" rigid foam first and then 2" foam will cover the bottom side of the L. You'll see.

Little change of scenery as we assist on a remodel for my brother and sister in law on Lake Washington. The interior is fully gutted to the studs and we're doing a few interesting things with assemblies and systems to upgrade the comfort, efficiency, and indoor air quality of this home.

But first up, construct an over-framed unvented roof. This membrane provides the air barrier and "backup roof" underneath 3.5" of GPS foam up next.

My first time working with @475.supply
Ashero SA membrane but it went pretty well!

It's been a pleasure using this new powered flow hood from (made by ACIN). Check out a recent article on this! Very accurate tool for measuring low and medium airflows.

This home has dedicated ventilation ducts as well as 2nd floor heating cooling ducts that require precise flow rates. What's that quote? "To measure is to know"?
