Fence season is almost over and I’m still at it. The “Fence Man” taught me a cool trick on how to make all of my posts aligned vertically and horizontally. Yes I installed these myself 😘 #

5 years ago today.. I was on the Kelly Clarkson show 🙌🏾🙏🏾

We have grown so much since then.

She Slangs Wood Co. is building more than a sawmill—we’re building a complete wood manufacturing company. We want to control the process from tree to lumber, lumber to product, and product to home—creating jobs, building wealth, and showing what a modern, Black woman-owned wood manufacturing company can accomplish.

Fun fact: I had to trademark my name IMMEDIATELY after the show aired 🤣😅😅

I also spoke with many tv producers about having my own show following that segment. The pilots were pitched and due to my building not being completed those plans fell through. Hopefully they will come back around one day.

Through the good and bad, it’s been a wonderful journey. Thank you KELLY!!

Super grateful for this article and to the city for lending a hand in changing the block. Keep going and keep doing what God told you to do.

Once places for people to gather and shop, properties across Milwaukee now sit abandoned and in disrepair.

However, two once-abandoned properties, a former bar in Merrill Park and a closed corner store in Harambee, have been transformed using the City of Milwaukee’s Art and Resource Community Hub Loan Program.

Nicknamed ARCH, the program provides interest-free matching loans of up to $25,000 to buy and renovate city-owned tax-foreclosed properties for art-related uses or as community resource centers. The program by the Department of City Development began as a pilot in 2017.
