Question for Homeowners & Contractors! 👇

If you received two estimates for the same job, which contractor would you choose?

•Option 1: A detailed estimate that clearly explains the exact scope of work, what is included, and the price — but costs more.
•Option 2: A brief description of the overall job and a lower price — without much detail about exactly what is included.

I get mixed feedback on this. Some people prefer the cheaper, simpler estimate, but I’ve also been called back to jobs to complete or fix things that another contractor’s estimate didn’t include — and the homeowner assumed they were included in the price.

I believe being detailed protects both the homeowner and the contractor and helps prevent surprises later.
I’m curious as I spend hours on estimates sometimes.

Just finished up this Level 4 with a light orange peel on this custom New Construction Home.

Level 4 is not your normal finish it is a step beyond that requiring another layer of mud & more detail work.
This one turned out beautiful!

A few years ago we bid this remodel & did not get it over another bid price.
Now we are back fixing cracked joints & smoothing out these ceilings behind the company. Alot of times the estimates do not include the same steps & that is why we are more expensive.
He was surprised we were covering his floors & trying to contain the dust! 😫
We guarantee our work & a clean work place. 💪
