Summer fun – XL style!

This past weekend, XL teams and their families came together for our annual summer picnic, an afternoon filled with great food, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs.

From lawn games and the rock wall to the always-popular dunk tank, the day was all about connecting, making memories, and celebrating the people who make our company such a special place to work.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's picnic one to remember.

Cody is majoring in Construction Management at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and recently sat down with us to share what he’s learned, the experiences he’s gained, and what his favorite part of his internship was.

At XL, our interns receive in-depth training from industry professionals, gain hands-on experience through meaningful project opportunities, and build mentoring relationships with experienced XLers. Our internship program is designed to expand on what students learn in the classroom while helping them explore the many career paths available in the innovative and rewarding construction industry.

Yesterday, we celebrated the reopening of Elkhorn Village School alongside Washington Unified School District and the West Sacramento community. After years of planning, collaboration, and construction, the modernized campus with new Spanish dual immersion programming is ready to welcome students back for the first day of school tomorrow!

The celebration brought together district leaders, educators, families, community members, and project partners, and was made even more special by a certificate of recognition presented by the California State Senate in honor of this milestone.
