Today is incredibly special to Metamorphosis Landscaping. I can't believe it has been 40 years since I started this company with a handful of tools and a few Sunset how-to-books.
It is amazing that we have come so far. From doing simple fences to now doing complex million-dollar projects. It was an extraordinary adventure.
From all the projects to all the shows, sometimes it's hard to imagine that we did all that.
But I had a great deal of help along the way, from my vendors and associates who taught me so much and helped me get so much done. To my wonderful clients who believed in me and my visions for their homes.
So today, I would like to express my gratitude to all the people and organizations who assisted us along the way, and I offer a heart-felt thank you to each one of you. Take care, and let's hope for many more years and amazing projects.

Hello Everyone,
Sometimes I am one of the luckiest people in the world. Thanks to my relationship with Proven Winners, I am given plants to try that are not available to the public. (Thank you Jane and Spring Meadow Nurseries). I received 15 plants in this shipment. Five each of a dwarf yellow twig dogwood (3-5' tall); a dwarf black leaf Crepe Myrtle (2-4' tall); and a new 'super' Azalea that blooms almost all year round. I put them into a couple of clients' gardens where I thought they would fit well. I am looking forward to seeing how they do this spring.

Hello Everyone:
I am keeping Jose and his crew busy. Here is a beautiful project for Masa & Anne Marie. First, we are doing a wonderful Cherokee stone patio with a raised planter box and fire pit. After that we are doing a small but formal Japanese garden in the front yard with mature Japanese maples and a green slate sitting area. More photos to come.

Hello everyone:

It has been a nice winter for us. We all had a chance to spend time with family and take care of our minor health issues.
Hopefully, we will get some more rain soon. I have a lot of photos I have been meaning to share with you. The first on is a set on the first new project of 2022, for Colin & Rebecca. It's a nice new driveway and front walkway. We will also be installing for them a new redwood deck, fire pit area, as well as a completely new landscaping. More photos of this project will be following in about a week or so. Enjoy and let's all hope for a wonderful spring season.

Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have posted. Here is a project I am very proud of. We did most of the project two years ago. The client had to wait for the next phase to start, the carport deck, access stairs, and spa. But in the last few months it is all starting to come together. We still have some pieces coming in the next few weeks. (more lighting and the custom deck stairs) Then in spring of next year we finish out the garden, install the living wall, and put in a hanging light over the spa. This project should be something special, I can't wait for the formal photos of this project. Take care everyone and be safe.

Hello Everyone, it has been a while since I have posted. We have had a bit of an odd spring this year. Between getting my client base prepared to get through another drought year and coming back from the "Lost Year" of Covid-19, it has been one crazy spring. Here is a nice upgrade project for one of my existing clients Steve & Julie. We originally did the project over 25 years ago, so it needed a little updating. We did a new stone trimmed driveway and pathway as well as removing a lawn and replacing it with a new a new Salvia (Xeri) garden. It cuts the water needs by 40% while giving the client tons of spring and summer color. Here are some progress pictures. More complete photos will follow shortly

Hello again. Here are some preliminary drawings of a project in San Mateo. This young couple purchased a house with no back yard (a very steep slope right now). So I designed a project, with the help of my incredible soil engineer Dan Dyckman/Geoforensics, with two major retaining walls which will give the clients 1,200 sq. ft. of level areas, a new 1,200 sq. ft. redwood deck with two pergolas, and a fire pit which their new family can enjoy for a lifetime of great memories. This is going to be a stunning project. Hopefully, we will do the deck this summer. I will keep you updated. Take care and be safe.

Hello Everyone. Here are some preliminary drawings for another major project in Los Altos. This project is over an acre and we will be installing a outdoor kitchen/dining area, a solid stone fire pit with a custom lounging area, a 2,000 sq. ft. drought tolerant entrance garden and a large cutting garden with an area for raised vegetable beds. Hopefully, we will break ground on later this spring. Take care of yourselves.

Hello everyone. Thankfully 2020 is over and we are looking forward to a wonderful Spring season. With all the chaos of last year I didn't post very much at all. So to start off the year, here are some project progress photos from our major project in Los Altos. 2021 looks to be a great year, and this winter we have a record number of designs progressing in the office. I wish all of you a happy and healthy 2021 and be safe.
