It all started with a young boys dream -- to be a woodworker. Les Schweitzer's dream began to come true when he worked for a carpenter in his teen years . After eighteen years as an employee, he decided to take a leap of faith. In 1993, he st
arted his own woodworking business,Schweitzer Custom Woodworking. He worked many day and evening hours building cabinets and small furniture. His business grew and before long he was building custom homes . During this time a new opportunity arose. An opportunity which would add a unique twist to his business -- laser engraving. With a laser engraving machine, custom designs and text could be etched into cabinet doors, mantels and glass. He felt this would be a benefit to his business and also provide custom gifts and home decor to future customers. In 2004, he added a laser engraving machine to his woodworking shop. Schweitzer Customs have been offering many unique products for home decor and gifts. These items have been precisely engraved with a laser engraver. Engraving is done through intensified light which passes through a lens. The light then burns directly into the material being engraved. In 2007, the old milk barn on the same acreage as the shop was restored into a retail store. It is brimming with quality laser engraved gifts and home decor.
