🌅 Soaking up the last bit of summer.

This community never fails to amaze me. I took a video at the Ritz today of all the people flooding in to support the vendors that came and when I switched back to my phone I lost them. It was such an eye opening moment for me. The fact that Taylor was so supportive of us all, opening early, letting us take up her space. Everyone should support businesses with owners like that! This week was pretty defeating for us but you all showing up for everyone made me remember why I love doing what I do. ❤️

🌸 That being said, we have a crazy amount of beautiful flowers out in the garden just waiting for you to come pick them, hang out with a friend in the lounge area, and enjoy a relaxing day on the farm! 🦋

Taylor at The Ritz is so incredibly kind, opening up her resteraunt to all of us Farmers Market in the Park vendors! We are open now, upstairs and there may be vendors downstairs also! We will be here until 1pm, other vendors may be longer but I have to get back to the farm as we are open there 2-5pm and have people expecting us there too.

Well I missed the email about the market being cancelled due to my recent hacking I went through, so I'm in town with a vehicle full of flowers. Is there anywhere I can set up to sell this morning?

Every time I leave the farm I hear “Boy, you sure are busy” or “wow, you are doing a lot out at the farm” and they aren’t lying.
It isn’t news that we are dipping our hands into every avenue of florals and growing. This is our full time job. It’s not a side hustle or side gig. I hear all the time that “it must be nice to get the winters off”. I laugh inside. (if you care to know what i do year round, keep an eye out for an accurate but funny post soon.)
It has been 4+ years (10 if you count my landscaping business before I started growing on the farm) of putting in all the hours. Doing the work (weeding, cutting, designing), the marketing, the book keeping, the planning, answering the calls and emails. It’s been me. Missing a lot of things. Giving it all to the business and very little to my family, who matters most. That’s what you have to do when starting a business. Heck, it’s what a lot of business owners still do many years in.
What we’ve created is something big. We’ve created a place for people to make memories. For people from all over the world to experience things outside their “norm”. A place they can go to escape everyday worries and concerns. Somewhere they go to enhance their artistic side or have a closer connection to nature.
Working in the garden isn’t just work. It is definitely work, but it's therapeutic. Your hands in the dirt. Hearing the birds. Connecting with all your senses. It’s exercise and fulfillment. It’s rewarding. Doing it with others is joyful. Meaningful.
Like I said, we’ve created something big. More than I can continue to handle successfully on my own. I have to make the decision to scale back, or move full speed ahead with changes.
I want to form a team with an amazing group of people who can help see through the mission of Little Sioux Stems. I want us all to grow, be successful, happy, and keep site of what’s most important! 🦋 All of the art pieces in the garden are for sale. It’s nearing fall and the pieces will be going back to the original creator this Friday, September 4th. That being said, we are offering a close out sale for the items. This is a first come, first serve basis. Once an item is claimed, I will send you an invoice to be paid within 4 hours. If it isn’t, I will go to the next person in line. These are all hand made, metal art, unique pieces with some of them being the only ones ever created.

🌸 We have loved showcasing them in our garden and hope you will love them in yours also!

Talk about the perfect girls night! Tessa with Okoboji Womens Club lined up some of the best vendors, businesses that gave samples of their products or provided products towards the night, and the best group of women around!!

Women picked flowers, enjoyed the garden, shopped and visited. I absolutely LOVED having all of you! ❤️

A huge shout out to Tessa and her mom for all the hard work they do behind scenes to make these women's events special and a great experiences!
