Another leaky unit fixed today( not my install) due to bad flares but we got her all fixed up and running great. Just out here servicing a unit (that I did not install) customer stated that it was freezing up . Upon arrival I found that unit was almost completely out of refrigerant. Recovered what little refrigerant that was in in the unit and tested with nitrogen to find that the old famous flare fittings had not been correctly flared and that they had used Teflon tape on the threads as well. Reflated refrigerant lines and used refrigerant glue on the threads and worked down to proper specs . Then pulled a vacuum down to 500 microns and recharged the unit. She’s blowing snow now (not literally lol) but anyway got this older unit good to go for the foreseeable future.
