𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿… 𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝘂𝗽. 👀💦

If you spent this summer noticing worn plaster, dated tile, tired coping—or just thinking 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘭—this is a great time to start talking about it.

🍂 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 + 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 = 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻.

Instead of giving up swimming days next spring or summer, tackle the project during the months your pool gets less use and have it 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 when warm weather comes back. ☀️

And a remodel can be a whole lot more than resurfacing.

✨ New plaster / interior finish
✨ New waterline tile
✨ Updated coping
✨ Decking upgrades
✨ New equipment + automation
✨ Water features
✨ Spa additions
✨ Or a complete backyard refresh

𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝘂𝗽. 👀🔥

Take a look at the before + after from an actual Firefly remodel earlier this year. Same backyard. Completely different feel.

Have an older pool that could use some love? 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. 💦

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻… ☀️➡️🌧️

This new construction pool recently hit a big milestone: 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚! 👏🏼

It’s easy to focus on the pool itself, but the space 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 the pool is a huge part of how the finished backyard will look, feel, and function.

These photos show the process in motion—from the steel reinforcement and prep work, to the concrete going down, to the finished decking beginning to take shape.

Because this is where the lounge chairs will go. ☀️
Where wet feet will run back for 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘮𝘱. 💦
Where friends will gather while someone’s at the grill.
And where a pool starts becoming an actual 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗗𝗢𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘.

Now Mother Nature has us taking a little rain break. 😂🌧️ But this pool + raised spa + brand-new home is getting closer and closer to becoming one seriously good backyard.

🦗 Apparently the crickets have taken over Parker County… and our pools. 😂

While we can’t keep every cricket from taking a swim, it’s a pretty good reminder that there’s a LOT more to designing a pool than choosing the shape, tile and plaster.

A great pool should be designed to look good AND work well.

When Firefly designs a pool, we take things like this into consideration from the very beginning:

💧 Skimmer placement — strategically placed to help collect bugs, leaves and other surface debris before they sink.

💧 Proper circulation — return locations, plumbing and pump sizing all matter when it comes to keeping water moving throughout the entire pool.

💧 The right filtration system — properly sized equipment helps keep your water clear and takes care of the smaller debris you can’t always see.

💧 Automatic pool cleaners — because inevitably, some of those crickets (and leaves, dirt and everything else Texas throws at us) are making it to the bottom.

💧 Automation & scheduling — giving homeowners more control over pumps, cleaning cycles, water features, lighting and other equipment.

There are a lot of decisions that happen behind the scenes when a pool is being designed — and those decisions can make a huge difference in how easy that pool is to own and maintain for years to come.

At Firefly Outdoor Construction, we’re not just thinking about what your pool will look like on day one. We’re thinking about how it will function every day after that.

Even when Parker County decides to send us a cricket invasion. 🦗😎

💦 POOL SCHOOL: Why are so many homeowners choosing saltwater?

“Can we do saltwater?”

It’s a question we hear A LOT when designing new pools—and there are some pretty good reasons why it’s become such a popular option.

First, one little misconception to clear up:

🧂 A saltwater pool IS a chlorine pool.

The difference is how that chlorine gets into your water. Instead of routinely adding chlorine to the pool, a salt chlorine generator uses a small amount of salt in the water to continuously produce chlorine.

So… is saltwater better? It depends on what matters most to you.

THE PROS 👍

💧 More consistent sanitation
The system produces chlorine continuously rather than relying primarily on periodic manual additions.

🧂 Less day-to-day chlorine handling
You’ll still need to test and balance your water, but you generally aren't adding chlorine as frequently.

🏊 Many swimmers prefer the feel
Saltwater pools are often described as feeling softer and more comfortable on the skin and eyes.

✨ Convenience
Once everything is properly balanced and dialed in, salt systems can make routine pool care a little easier.

THE CONS 👎

💰 Higher upfront cost
A salt chlorine generator adds equipment and cost compared with a basic traditional chlorine setup.

🔧 The salt cell doesn't last forever
It's a wear item and will eventually need to be cleaned and replaced.

🧪 It's NOT maintenance-free
This is the big one! You still have to test and balance your water. Salt systems can also contribute to rising pH, so water chemistry still matters.

⚠️ Salt + materials require some consideration
Proper material selection, water chemistry and maintenance are important because salt can contribute to corrosion or deterioration of certain metals and surfaces over time.

THE BOTTOM LINE?

There isn't one sanitation system that's right for every pool or every homeowner.

We like to talk through how you'll actually use and maintain your pool and help choose the equipment that makes sense for you—not just what's trending.

Now we're curious…

👇 Saltwater pool owners: would you choose saltwater again?

Another new home getting a pretty great backyard upgrade. 👀💦

It may look like we’re just covering things up with dirt today… but there’s a whole lot happening underneath it.

The plumbing is in, lines are being covered, and this new pool is one step closer to becoming part of this family’s brand-new backyard. 🏡✨

One of the coolest parts of building a pool alongside a new home is watching everything come together at the same time—from an empty lot to a place this family will get to enjoy for years to come.

There are a lot of stages in a pool build that you’ll never see once the water goes in. This is one of them. And getting the things you won’t see right is every bit as important as making the finished pool beautiful.

Next step loading… 🚧💦

We can’t wait to show you this one as it comes together!

September 11 is a day that will forever hold a place in our nation’s history and in the hearts of so many American families. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families who were forever changed by that day.

We honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, service members, and everyday people who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness—especially those who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape it.

Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice is not forgotten.

May we also remember the compassion, unity, and willingness to help one another that followed. May we continue to look out for our neighbors, support those who serve our communities, and never take for granted the freedoms and people we hold dear.

Today, and always, we remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
