Meet Duke. Somewhere along the way, he became SEAC of the Carolinas' unofficial mascot, black and yellow collar included.

He doesn't do much electrical work, but he's earned his spot on the team anyway.

Gas turbines were headed toward retirement not long ago. Now they're being kept running longer than anyone expected because demand for power keeps climbing.

It's part of why nuclear power is getting a second look too. Old sources, new sources, all of it is staying relevant longer than the industry predicted.

We keep an eye on shifts like this because it shapes the kind of work headed our way.

Our crew recently handled the medium voltage terminations on a large new facility, the work that keeps power moving to everything else inside. Every system in the building depends on this part of the job. We worked alongside our partners at Luca Electric to get it done.

Anyone touring the building rarely sees this part. But without it, nothing else runs.

Walk a job site today and you'll see something that wasn't nearly as common a decade ago. Women running crews, reading blueprints, stepping into skilled trades like electrical work.

At SEAC of the Carolinas, we've watched that shift up close. We believe the future of the electrical trade is built on skill, integrity, and opportunity for everyone.

Check on your teammates. It's a small thing that can make a real difference.

Construction workers are five times more likely to die from su***de than from a workplace injury, according to the CDC. Over 5,000 construction workers die by su***de every year.

If someone seems off, ask them. If you're the one struggling, reach out. Call or text 988, it's free, confidential, and available any hour of any day.

SEAC sponsored this year's keynote speaker at the Southeastern Construction Owners and Associates Roundtable, SCOAR conference in Myrtle Beach, Kamber Parker Bowden of Generational Performance Solutions.

Her talk on leading across generations opened with a simple exercise, naming the assumptions people carry about each generation. Then she explained where those assumptions actually come from. Baby boomers taught to arrive before the boss and stay after. Gen X raised as latchkey kids, figuring things out without supervision. Millennials shaped by expecting quick feedback.

Every one of those generations is represented on our crews.

SEAC of the Carolinas has done electrical work across the Southeast since 2004. In 2025, that grew to include fiber optic networking, designing and installing complete systems for facilities that need it.

It's a natural extension of the electrical work we've always done, one more way to solve problems quickly and do the job right the first time.

We run training on a regular basis. Learning in a controlled setting makes all the difference. Our crew gets comfortable with the gear and the process before it ever matters out in the field.

Learn the ins and outs, ask the questions, get a feel for the equipment, all in a place where it's okay to take time and learn the right way. We're always striving to keep our crews and everyone on a job site as safe as possible.
