⚡ Celebrating National Tradesman Day! ⚡

Today we’re proud to celebrate our 5th Annual Tradesman Day at Corey Sly Electrical Service — a day dedicated to recognizing the hardworking men and women who keep our company moving forward every single day.

Our electricians work in the heat, the cold, early mornings, late nights, and everything in between. They solve problems, take care of our customers, work safely, teach the next generation, and represent Corey Sly Electrical Service with skill and professionalism throughout our community.

The knowledge and craftsmanship behind the electrical trade are built through years of training, experience, and dedication — and we are incredibly proud of the team we have.

To all of our electricians: thank you for the work you do, the pride you take in your trade, and the commitment you give to our customers and our company.

Happy National Tradesman Day! 🛠️⚡

Favorite Local Artist!

We are excited to share that Corey Sly was voted Favorite Local Artist in the MRT Readers’ Choice Awards!

Most people know Corey Sly for his work as a Master Electrician and for building Corey Sly Electrical Service into a name Midland has trusted since 1988. But there’s another side of Corey that has always been part of the story—he’s an artist.

From the early years of the company, Corey found a way to make his artwork part of the business in a very personalized way. Each year, he creates a new piece of original artwork that is made into a print especially for our customers—a tradition that began as Corey’s way of personally thanking them for their business and continued support. What started as a simple gesture of appreciation has become a tradition that has continued for decades.

We are incredibly proud to see Corey recognized not only for the work he has done as an electrician, but also for the creativity and talent behind the artwork so many of our customers have come to know over the years.

Congratulations, Corey—and thank you, Midland, for voting Corey Sly as one of your Favorite Local Artists.

After 38 years with Corey Sly
Electrical Service, we are celebrating the retirement of
someone who has been part of this company from the
very beginning—Laddie Norton.

Back in the 80s, when Corey Sly Electrical Service was
just getting started, Laddie was right there alongside
Corey, knocking on doors and handing out flyers to
help build the business one customer at a time. From
those early days to the company we are today, Laddie’s
hard work, loyalty, knowledge, and commitment have
been part of our foundation.

Over the years, Laddie became much more than a
Master Electrician. He has been a trusted leader,
mentor, coworker, friend, and familiar face to countless
customers. His attention to detail, dedication to doing
the job right, and willingness to share his experience
have made a lasting impact on everyone who has had
the privilege of working with him.

It is hard to imagine Corey Sly Electrical Service
without Laddie, but we are excited for him as he begins
this well-earned new chapter. We hope retirement
brings plenty of relaxation, RV adventures, great
memories, and absolutely no service calls!

Thank you, Laddie, for 38 incredible years and for
helping build Corey Sly Electrical Service from the
ground up. You will be greatly missed, but the legacy
you leave behind will always be part of this company.
Come visit us soon!

The wiring is done—now it’s time for fun!
Congratulations on your retirement, Laddie!

🚧 Safety 1st. 🚧

This morning, our team had the privilege of meeting with Ketha Molina from Texas811 to review the proper excavation process and the critical steps that must be taken before any digging begins.

Every excavation project—whether it’s installing electrical services, trenching for underground utilities, or setting poles—starts with one simple but essential step: contacting Texas 811. Taking the time to locate underground utility lines helps prevent service interruptions, property damage, costly repairs, and, most importantly, keeps everyone safe.

At Corey Sly Electrical Service, we believe ongoing training and education are key to providing safe, reliable service to our customers. We’re grateful to Ketha for sharing her expertise and helping our team stay informed on current excavation requirements and best practices.
