𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘴: 𝘉𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 ➤ Journey into the heart of Zhangjiajie, China, to explore the engineering marvel known as the Bailong Elevator. Reaching a staggering height of 326 meters, it officially holds the title of the world’s tallest fully exposed outdoor elevator!

• “Hundred Dragons Elevator” — Bailong means “Hundred Dragons” in Chinese
• Guinness Record Holder: It holds the official Guinness World Record as the world's tallest fully exposed outdoor elevator ascending 326 meters (1,070 feet) up the side of a quartzite sandstone cliff
• Avatar Inspiration: It is located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie, China, the region that served as the visual inspiration for the floating Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar.
• High Speed: The ride from the ground level station concourse to the upper observation platform takes just 1 minute and 58 seconds, moving at speeds of up to 5 meters per second.
• Massive Capacity: Each elevator car can carry up to 50 passengers, meaning the entire system has a theoretical capacity of moving approximately 1,380 people per hour in one direction.
• Technical Design: The system actually consists of three separate, parallel elevators, each of which is a double-deck car (carrying passengers on two levels simultaneously).
• Construction Challenge: Construction began in 1999 and was completed in 2002 at a cost of approximately $17 million USD, requiring intricate engineering to secure the structure to the sheer, vertical cliff face.
• Safety Features: The glass elevators are equipped with specialized sensors, including advanced earthquake detectors, which will automatically stop the cars and park them safely in the event of seismic activity.
