It’s almost peony time! If you grow them you probably noticed the tiny ants that crawl on the buds. This is because the buds produce nectar- a sticky sweet substance that attracts the ants. The ants feeding on the nectar help keep the buds clean and loosens the bud. This aids in the flower opening up. Here’s a couple of last year’s flowers. 🌸☀️
