In Bentleyville Ohio, a small village near Chagrin Falls, where the river roars and the local residents value their backyard landscapes, Carmel Landscapes was called to monitor and protect the shores of the Chagrin River preventing further property damage. This backyard landscape succumbed to winter flooding resulting in the loss of 300,000 tons on soil washed into the river.
To prevent further damage and in cooperation with the US Army Core of Engineers, Carmel Landscapes held an emergency Storm Water and Variance meeting with the elected officials of Bentleyville pleading the case for the homeowner and those that resided down-river to remediate and protect the failing river's edge. Months of planning and water studies, with data from our drone flights helped secure the river's edge within strict and tight time schedules so these residents could regain confidence in their landscapes again without fear of further damage or safety concerns.
Carmel Landscapes is a huge supporter of the Chagrin River Watershed Partnership and was very excited to assist these homeowners with solutions. If your backyard oasis is on the Chagrin River or any body of water and you are experiencing safety concerns, loss of property and need realistic solutions to navigate these challenges, please reach out to our technicians, they will navigate the waters for you.
