Storm Recovery Update: Moving into Phase 2 This Sunday 🪵
We want to send a massive thank you to all of our incredible customers—both our long-time loyal supporters and the many new faces we’ve met over the last few weeks. Ever since that nasty storm on August 11th, our crew here at Knoll & Sons have been working hard. We've been flooded with calls from local homeowners dealing with some really tough, stressful situations involving fallen trees on top of their roofs. Just when we thought we were finally wrapping up Phase 1 of our cleanup, we had 5 more homeowners reach out to us this week. They also have trees sitting on their homes but held off on calling Knoll & Sons, hoping things would have slowed down a bit by now. Because tree-on-house emergencies require precise coordination, and the utmost safety protocols, taking care of these 5 homes means our timeline is shifting slightly.
Phase 2 of our storm cleanup will now officially begin this Sunday. We truly value your business and are incredibly grateful for your continued patience. A huge shoutout to our friends at Highborn Tree Service. When massive trees land on roofs sometimes it's safer and faster to remove them using a crane. At the start of the storm we lost the use of our normal crane so I lined one local tree service up to help us out only to be told on the day that he wouldn't be able to help. I connected with Highborn and they stepped in. Having access to this crane allowed our crew to work faster. La PORTE COUNTY — Cleanup and power restoration continued over the weekend after a derecho produced widespread damage in the La Porte County last week.

A great perspective shift for the week ahead. My husband Stan (80) has lived and breathed tree work for more than six decades. His love for trees runs incredibly deep. Amidst all the storm damage and downed trees in our area, we found this magnificent survivor didn’t budge. This ancient oak is estimated to be 400+ years old! It has weathered centuries of storms, and it stood its ground through this one, too. Stan decided it deserved a giant thank-you hug for holding strong. Stan’s wingspan might not cover the whole trunk, but the absolute reverence and gratitude he has for this survivor is endless. Two legends in one photo—both strong, resilient, and dedicated to the trees!
