Another “throwback” to a City of Lake Worth Historic Preservation project: The Hummingbird Hotel.

Located in the heart of downtown Lake Worth, we worked with the owners to fulfill their vision of reinventing the historic hotel as a shared workspace and offices, making it a true adaptive reuse success story.

The Lucerne Cottage - Completed about 10 years ago! This project was our first new construction self initiated design/build project. It's located near Downtown Lake Worth in the Lucerne Historic district, a rare new construction project (at the time) within the fabric of small wood frame cottages. This project was later recognized by the City's Historic Preservation staff and is still used as an example of appropriate architectural behavior! Also, it is still one of my favorite projects.

The site of what will be our fourth house designed and built in Everglades City.

The property sits along the old railroad track “turnaround”, a unique place to build with water views along the North and South Frontages

Over the last six years, each house has taught us something about building in this landscape, living with the water and weather, and designing for the particular character of Everglades City. Excited to see how these lessons will materialize in this next design.
