The Florida PSC approved a four-year FPL rate settlement in November 2025. The typical bill went up in January, and it's scheduled to keep going up through 2029.
It's not the biggest jump in year one ($2.50 a month for the average customer), but the point is the direction. Four years of increases, locked in.

A solar subscription doesn't move like that. DM us your last bill and we'll show you what a locked rate would look like against the utility curve.

Texas hit a new grid record on July 22. Over 91 gigawatts of demand, up from the 85.5 GW record set in 2023. The grid held, with more than 20 GW of buffer to spare.
What carried it: solar, wind, and batteries. Solar alone hit 35 to 45% of generation during daylight peaks. Every rooftop with panels is part of that number.

DM us if you're curious where your home fits into what's coming next summer.

Every Texas summer, ERCOT calls at least a few conservation events on the hottest afternoons. Sometimes voluntary, sometimes brownouts. It's part of the grid working near its limit.

TerraOne homes ride these differently. The battery covers your usage, up to 20% feeds the grid as part of the VPP, 80% stays with you, and the rate stays where it is (no peak-hour pricing spike).

Selling a Florida home with Terra panels? Two options, both clean.
The buyer takes over the subscription (paperwork on our side, name change on theirs). Or, you end the subscription and we remove the system. Either way, no lien is holding up the sale, no payoff to negotiate, nothing tied to the property title.
Comment or DM us if you're planning a move this year.

A pattern we see in the comments: "other plans give me free nights, why don't you?"

Fair question. Here's the honest answer. "Free nights" plans in Houston and Dallas are time-of-use structures. Energy is free during a set overnight window, and the daytime rate is set higher than a standard fixed plan to make up for it. TDU delivery charges also still apply during "free" hours.

For night-shift workers or overnight EV charging, they can be a great fit. For most daytime-occupied homes, the math works against you.

DM us 'FREE NIGHTS' and we'll check your usage pattern against your current plan.

Hurricane season is officially here. A few practical things worth reviewing before the first big storm if you're a solar + battery household.

Charge to 100% the day before. Know which outlets are on the backup circuit. Keep essentials chargeable. Don't count on solar generation while it's overcast and pouring.

DM us any storm-week questions. We'd rather over-explain than have you guessing.

Every Texas electricity plan is required to publish an Electricity Facts Label. It's standardized: the actual rate at different usage levels, the fees, the fine print. Most people never read it. Providers count on that.

We encourage good energy decisions.

If you're shopping solar in Florida, take five questions with you. Who owns the panels. Is there a lien. What's the exit cost. Who pays for roof work. What happens if the company folds.

Any solar company should answer all five without dodging. We will. Comment or DM us if a competitor won't.

The Washington Post ran a piece last week: for two decades, the advice on rooftop solar has been "own, don't lease." That advice is changing.

Two things shifted at once. The federal solar tax credit for homeowners ended in 2025, which raised the effective cost of buying a system. And third-party providers (leases, PPAs, subscriptions) still get the business tax credit through 2027, and can pass those savings to customers. Per Wood Mackenzie, third-party ownership is now the majority of new residential solar sales.

DM us if you want to talk through what that shift means for your home.

In Houston, most "solar and battery" plans quote you two products. TerraOne is one rate that already includes a 40 kWh whole-home battery. 80% of that battery is always yours. Up to 20% goes to the grid during peak demand. That's the VPP, and it's part of why the rate stays where it is.

DM us your zip and we'll run the numbers.
