Some rooms are for eating. This one is for lingering.

Facing the bay in Edgewater, this dining room settles into a palette of earth tones and quiet warmth — natural linen wrapping every wall, wide oak planks running underfoot, the whole space tuned to the light coming off the water.

At its center, a stainless steel table plays against type. Cool and precise on its own, it borrows all its warmth from the chairs that gather around it — Flexform pieces in solid wood and leather, drawn from the old film director’s chair, a nod to a set that folds and travels and holds a certain quiet authority. Above, the Flos Belt pendant stretches across the table in a single confident line, equal parts lighting and fashion.

To the side, a custom curved travertine wall anchors the bar — travertine again, carrying shelves and cabinets for the bottles, wrapping the corner like it was quarried in place. The stools pull their shape from the low seats shoemakers once worked from, now made in Denmark and softened for a different kind of craft.

And along the glass, real wood blinds tilt to let the sun in on your terms — never at the cost of the water beyond them.

Not a room to pass through. A room to stay in.

Some rooms are built to impress. This one was built to exhale.

Wrapped in natural linen and warm oak, this living room opens to the bay and asks only one thing of you: slow down. The walls are clean but never cold — sophisticated, yet still the kind of space where you kick off your shoes and stay for the long conversation. Nothing here is meant to intimidate. It’s meant to be lived in.

At its heart, Edra’s On the Rocks sofa refuses to sit still. Where most rooms settle for straight lines, its sculpted, wandering form brings movement and a little joy — an invitation to gather rather than an instruction to sit properly.

Beside it, Oscar Niemeyer’s Alta lounge chairs from 1971 hold their ground with the quiet authority only a master could draw — proof that real elegance never dates. A low, vein-cut Silver Travertine table rests on a hand-woven wool rug, and the red bases of the 1962 Toio lamps flash a wink of industrial fun across all that calm.

Look closely at the oak paneling and you’ll miss it entirely — which is the point. Behind it, a handle-less door to the master suite disappears into the grain, held shut by nothing but its hinges. Extra-wide brushed oak floors carry the mood through the whole apartment, and out on the balcony, Piero Lissoni’s Frog chairs wait with the view.

Not a room to be looked at — a room to be lived in.

Improving the flow between the dining and living areas was a key design goal. Instead of using chairs on both sides of the dining table, we introduced a custom floating bench that enhances circulation while creating a more inviting and intimate dining experience.

Framed in rich walnut with a matching wood backrest, the bench adds warmth, texture, and architectural interest. A striped fabric in muted tones pairs beautifully with the iconic Panton chairs, reupholstered in soft light brown velvet, balancing timeless design with contemporary comfort. Completing the composition, the Flos Aim pendant light elegantly anchors the space, creating a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere.

Every element was carefully selected to make the space feel effortless, functional, and welcoming.

A private courtyard transformed into an oasis in the heart of a Miami Beach triplex penthouse.

Originally conceived only as a passageway to the entrance of the residence, this open-air courtyard had the potential to become much more than a transition space. We reimagined it as an intimate outdoor room — a place for entertaining, gathering, dining, reading, or simply slowing down.

The checkered flooring brings a subtle European charm, while the climbing greenery softens the architecture and wraps the courtyard with life. Above, sculptural sail shades filter the Miami sun, creating comfort and shadow where there was once only an open roof.

Quiet, refined outdoor pieces by Belgian brand Tribù complete the composition, turning this once-forgotten space into a private oasis connected to the social areas of the home — sophisticated, warm, and made to be lived in.
