Joaquín Fernández is an international architect with unmatched expertise in everything from luxury homes and hotels, to interiors and furnishings. Joaquin studied at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. He completed his studies in Architecture in 2003, specializing in ecological and bioclimatic systems and projects. In 2016, he obtained the international recognition of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, becoming part of the American Architects with maximum knowledge in his field. He has been professor at the School of Design of Barcelona Llotja, giving classes in Interior Design and Direction of Interior Design Projects. In his professional career, he stands out for collaborating with important law offices in Barcelona, creating expert reports on pathologies of buildings. Fernandez Architecture provides exceptional design services for projects including private homes, commercial structures, hotels, and more. We serve clients in the U.S. and internationally. We provide creative solutions to provide comfortable living spaces, even in complex structures. A European perspective. A Miami conversation.

Today, our founder, architect Joaquín Fernández, participated in the City of Miami Planning Department’s Little Havana roundtable for local architects and designers, alongside fellow professionals invited to contribute their perspectives to the neighborhood’s future architectural design guidelines.

Being invited into this conversation is a meaningful recognition of the value of local architectural experience. We thank the City’s Planning Department and the workshop team for including Joaquín’s perspective in this collective effort.

As a Spanish architect practicing in Miami, Joaquín brings a European perspective on proportion, materiality and the relationship between buildings and the street, informed by the climate, cultural diversity and everyday life of his adopted city.
