✨Introducing first characters from WONDERLAND collection
by Nika Zupanc for Maletti ! ✨
....
I envisioned Wonderland as a landscape of objects—a collection that defines space through a distinct visual rhythm, rather than simply inhabiting it. Each piece has its own presence and identity, yet together they form an architectural vocabulary in which function, form and iconic visual elements construct a world of their own.
In designing Wonderland for Maletti, I wanted to bring my visual language into the precise and highly functional environment of the contemporary hair salon. Elements that have long been part of my vocabulary—lace patterns, ribbon-like forms and my signature palette of pink, red and black—are reinterpreted here in new and unexpected ways. For me, these familiar forms are never merely visual gestures. They carry meaning, evoke associations and become an integral part of each object’s identity and structure.
I imagined the collection as a cast of individual characters: the ALICCE and Fiocco chairs with Perle and Cavallettobases, the Lolipop family of tables with mirrors, the Merletto reception desk, and the Meraviglia washing station. With Meraviglia, I wanted to introduce an innovation that goes beyond form—to rethink the washing ritual itself and elevate the salon experience in an entirely new way. It reflects my ambition for Wonderland: to bring together a strong visual identity with new possibilities for comfort, function and experience.
At its heart, Wonderland is about the transformative power of design. Just as a haircut can alter the way we inhabit ourselves, I believe an object can redefine the way we inhabit and experience a space. With Wonderland, I wanted to introduce new possibilities for interaction, comfort and ritual, transforming the salon from a purely functional environment into a distinctive and immersive experience.
