Do we start this fall...or wait until spring?
The answer depends on how ready you are today.

If your budget is confirmed, design decisions are made, you’ve selected your contractor, and you’re prepared to move into permitting soon, there’s still a potential window for a fall start.

But if you’re still working through major decisions? Don’t rush it just to beat winter.

Spring may be the smarter target…and that doesn’t mean waiting until spring to start planning.
Spring is one of the busiest building seasons in Southern NH. The homeowners who start conversations months ahead are typically in a much better position than the ones making their first call when the weather warms up.

Whether you’re aiming for fall or spring, the same principle applies: Plan early. Build when you’re ready.

Someone telling you not to build an addition doesn’t automatically mean they’re wrong.

But it doesn’t automatically mean they’re right, either.
There are legitimate reasons an addition may not make sense: zoning, setbacks, structural limitations, budget, or the long-term value of the project.

Those are facts we can evaluate. But complexity by itself isn’t a reason to say no.

We’ve walked into plenty of homes where the solution wasn’t obvious. That’s where experience matters.
Before you give up on adding the space your family needs, find out what’s actually possible.

A good contractor shouldn’t tell you what’s easiest for them to build. They should help you understand what’s right for your home.

When you finally find the perfect custom cabinets.....and then realize you waited a little too long to order them. 😭😂

Custom means custom…and that usually comes with lead times.

Cabinetry can be one of the biggest pieces of the remodeling timeline, which is why selections need to happen earlier than most homeowners expect.

The sooner those decisions are made, the sooner we can get materials ordered and keep everything else moving.

So yes, take your time choosing the cabinets you’ll love for years...just maybe don’t take too much time.

What does a bathroom remodel actually cost in Southern New Hampshire?

It’s one of the first questions homeowners ask…and it’s one we believe deserves a real answer.

For many Southern NH projects, here’s a realistic starting point:

🔷$20K–$30K: Updated fixtures, new vanity, flooring, and a more cosmetic refresh.
🔷$30K–$45K: Full gut remodel, potential layout changes, walk-in shower, and mid-range finishes.
🔷$45K–$75K: Custom tile work, heated floors, frameless glass, premium fixtures, and higher-end finishes.
🔷$75K+: Larger primary bath transformations, significant layout or structural changes, and fully custom spaces.

What moves the number?

Plumbing relocation. Layout changes. Custom tile. Fixture selections. Electrical work. And, especially in older New Hampshire homes, what we discover once things are opened up.

That’s why we don’t believe in throwing out a low number just to get someone in the door.
