🐜🐜 It doesn't seem like a big deal, but one or two ants in your home signals that the colony is close by.

These ants are most likely scout ants sent to find food and water for the colony.

Carpenter ants don’t eat wood, like termites do. They carve it out to build nests.

That means damage can start long before you notice anything.

When they are in season, you could see them around windows, doors, or light fixtures - inside or outside.

What’s less known is that swarmers signal a mature colony.

Termites don’t swarm until they’re established and ready to reproduce.

That colony may have been nearby for several years.

🐶 This might not be the first thing on your mind when you bring home a 20 or 40 pound bag of pet food.

However, keeping it in the paper container it comes in makes it easily accessible to mice.

Consider transferring it to a strudy plastic container - it will stay fresher longer and won't be easy for mice to grab a snack.
