Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their memory and remember the strength, unity, and compassion Americans showed one another during one of our nation’s darkest moments.

🔧 Troubleshooting Tuesday: A/C Capacitor

Small Part. Big Job.

Your A/C capacitor is a small electrical component that helps give the compressor and outdoor fan motor the power they need to start and keep running properly.

When a capacitor begins to fail, you may notice:

❄️ A/C not cooling
⚠️ Outdoor unit humming but not starting
🌀 Outdoor fan not spinning
⏱️ A/C taking longer than normal to start
🔥 System shutting off unexpectedly

A weak capacitor can put extra strain on the compressor and fan motor, which may lead to a more expensive repair if it’s ignored.

EcoEdge Tip: Capacitors store electrical energy even when the power is turned off, so testing or replacing one should be left to a trained HVAC professional.
