🏦 It's a bank holiday, but the dirt doesn't care 😂

Whether it's Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day, or just another Monday, the work doesn't always stop for the calendar.

Our crews are still out here getting it done and keeping projects moving.

There are two kinds of people on a jobsite.

The ones who see a pile of dirt... and the ones who immediately start thinking about where that dirt needs to go 😂

Because with hydrovac work, what comes out of the ground has to go somewhere. Spoil management isn't exactly the most glamorous part of the job, but it's still gotta get done.

Dig it. Move it. Deal with it. Keep going.

There's a lot of waiting on a construction site.

Waiting for the next crew.

Waiting for materials.

Waiting on the utility company.

Waiting for the equipment.

Waiting for the weather to cooperate.

And then there's the other kind of waiting...

The kind where everyone is standing around because something needs to happen before anyone can move forward and that's where being ready to work when the window opens matters.

Construction sites can get pretty crowded. Multiple crews, equipment moving around, limited access, existing utilities and a lot of things happening at once.

That's one of the reasons hydrovac can be such a useful tool.

We can get into areas where bringing in larger equipment isn't practical, work around existing infrastructure and help another crew get to the next step.

Not always the biggest machine on the site. Sometimes just the right one.

Not a bad view from the jobsite 🌅

Part of our crew was up early digging a 2' x 2' hole about 6 feet down for a new lamp post in town.

The sunrise definitely made the early start a little easier to appreciate 😂 A little digging, a pretty great view, and another job ready for the next step.

“It'll only take a minute.” Five words that have probably caused more trouble on jobsites than anyone wants to admit 😂

Because “just a minute” can turn into:

Finding the right spot.

Moving the truck.

Running the hose.

Getting set up.

And then, finally, getting to work.

Jobsite minutes have a way of being a little different than regular minutes. Especially when there's a hydrovac involved.

But the truck doesn't walk itself into position, run the hose, watch what's happening around the excavation, communicate with the other crews, or figure out what needs to happen next.

There's a lot happening around that truck that you don't always see in the finished photo.

The equipment matters. The people running it matter more.

Before the new work can happen, the existing line needs to be found and exposed so the crew knows exactly what they're working with.

A little digging in the right spot can save a whole lot of guessing later.

You can have the address, the scope, the equipment and the plan all figured out before the truck ever leaves the shop. Then you get on-site.

Maybe access is different than expected.
Maybe the work area has changed.
Maybe another crew is working somewhere you didn't anticipate.
Maybe the conditions underground aren't quite what everyone thought.
And that's life around here.

The ability to adjust without turning a small change into a big problem matters.
