Dalton Sanderford’s electrical career started with a phone call, and a little push from his brother, Colby, who also works at A&B Electric.
Dalton was in college studying sports medicine and helping his dad on the farm when his brother, Colby, encouraged him to try A&B Electric. One call later, he got off the tractor and started a new career path.
Dalton began in the apprenticeship program and worked in the shop before being sent to Hernando, where he spent a year and a half learning under Superintendent Gabe Sanders. From bending conduit and underground work to operating equipment and learning the trade from the ground up, Dalton took every opportunity to grow.
Now, six years later, Dalton is continuing to develop not only as an electrician, but as a leader.
“There are challenges from the blueprint to the first shovel to management,” Dalton said. “I want to do my best working with the team and doing right by the guys.”
He credits mentors like Gabe and Colby for helping him learn the trade, read prints, and take control of situations. His next goal is to become a stronger, more confident leader — one who can continue learning from those around him while also trusting his own experience.
For Dalton, the growth has been personal as much as professional.
“I like becoming who I am today,” he said. “The lights are coming on. I like the man I’m becoming.”
Dalton describes himself as an open book and a perfectionist. He is inspired by his family, his upbringing in a hard-working environment, and his faith.
We’re proud to spotlight Dalton and grateful for the dedication, humility, and leadership he brings to A&B Electric.
