Before the rain moved in this week, we wrapped up this 60’ x 65’ building pad in Quenemo, KS on Monday!

We cleared trees from the building area, stripped the topsoil down to clay, and used clay from the property to build up and shape the pad. It’s always rewarding to see a site go from trees and untouched ground to the start of a customer’s next project.

The builders are scheduled to be on site in the next few weeks, and we’re excited to see it take shape!

We made a lot of progress on the customer’s off-road track earlier this week! Several lanes are taking shape, and we’ve been building different obstacles along the way to give each run its own challenge.

We’re waiting on the customer’s decisions for a few final obstacles. There’s still rock to add and some backfilling to finish, but the track is coming together. More progress to come!

We’re burning the brush pile generated from clearing trees for our customer’s personal off-road track project in Topeka, Kansas. Clearing and cleaning up the vegetation is an important part of opening up the property and making room for the new trails and obstacles. While the pile continues to burn down, we’re keeping the equipment moving and making more progress on the track!

The customer we recently completed a land-clearing project for in Topeka, Kansas, decided it was time to begin a dream project they’ve been discussing for years, their own personal off-road park!

We started building the park at the beginning of last week and made great progress through Friday. While we’re currently enjoying some time away on vacation, we’ll have plenty more progress photos to share when we return!

Last week, we completed a trenching project for Dan’s Car Wash in Meriden, Kansas. Dan is running electrical service from the main building to his CONEX storage container on the northeast side of the property.

We trenched the route while the electrician followed behind us, installing the conduit. Once the conduit was in place, we backfilled and compacted the trench so the concrete contractor could prepare the area and re-pour the concrete the following day.

This land clearing project in Topeka, KS turned out great!

We started this one a few weeks ago, but had a couple other projects mixed in along the way—and a semi-major surgery that put me down for a few days.

The goal was to clean up the property without completely stripping it. We cleared out all of the underbrush and smaller trees while leaving the larger, mature trees in place to provide plenty of shade for years to come.

There was also an existing lagoon buried in the middle of all the overgrowth that needed to be completely exposed and accessible so new fencing could be installed around it.

A huge transformation and another property cleaned up and put back to use!

In the middle of our Sherwood Lake project, we also made time to head down to Louisburg, KS to knock out some footing excavation for another customer!

We laid out and excavated the footings to get everything ready for the next phase of construction.

Whether it’s a large earthwork project or getting the groundwork ready for a new build, we’re always happy to keep the dirt moving!

The last part of our Sherwood Lake project in Topeka, KS had us trying our hand at a little actual landscaping!

We installed new edging around the customer’s front flower bed and backfilled the area with fresh river rock to give it a clean, finished look and get it back to the way it should be.

Another part of this project that I unfortunately failed to get before-and-after pictures of was removing a large, random berm in the customer’s backyard that was blocking the view of the lake from their pool. We cut the berm down, loaded and hauled the excess material off site, and finish graded the area to maintain proper drainage while opening up their view of the lake.

From excavation and drainage to shoreline work and a little landscaping, this was a fun project with a little bit of everything!

Another part of our recent project at Sherwood Lake in Topeka, KS was giving this customer’s shoreline a clean, finished look while also improving its long-term durability.

We started by leveling and prepping both sides of the shoreline, then installed geotextile fabric and limestone rock edging to create a defined border between the existing riprap shoreline and the yard. We finished by backfilling along the new limestone edging with smaller riprap, blending everything together for a natural, polished appearance.

The end result is a unique, durable shoreline that not only looks great but will help protect and define the property for years to come.

It’s been a few weeks since our last post, so we’ve got some catching up to do! We’ll be sharing several projects we’ve completed over the last few weeks.

We wrapped up an excavation and landscape project at Sherwood Lake in Topeka, KS at the end of last week. Here’s one part of the project. We excavated and prepped the area around the customer’s driveway culvert, then installed premium gray stone to create a clean, finished entrance that complements the property.

A little dirt work and the right material can make a big difference in curb appeal!
